Mutantmoose
I finally took the plunge, and am obtaining my Master's Degree online. I chose Grand Canyon University, mostly because of the way I could structure the situation financially (I will be out $2,500 when all is said and done, and that is a really great deal) and the way the classes are conducted. I didn't think that it being a "Christian University" was going to be a big deal. Well, it isn't a BIG DEAL, but it is a MEDIUM-TO-LARGE deal. I am expected to post to an academic discussion board on a regular basis. Also linked to this board is a - you may have guessed it - prayer forum! I can ask for prayers! (Note: I'm not actually graded on participation on the prayer board.) There are also students who seem to think that "To raise the glory of God" is a valid reason to engage in good communication. More than a couple of posts have indicated that, after discussing valid reasons for an instructional tecchnique, the phrase "It fits with my Christian values" should also be included. Of course I'm not going to make waves, of course I will just focus on the cousework, but man, a year of this will get old. I hope that the references to religion taper off a bit over time. Just venting, since I can't really vent in the "Prayer Forum". I can fantasize about it, though. "If anyone needs prayers to the Flying Spaghetti Monster, let me know - I'm ordained!!" Super Moderator TheRedneckProfessor Posted June 1, 2014 Super Moderator Share Posted June 1, 2014 Good luck. I spent 4 years at a christian college to earn a degree that has done little good in my life. At least you won't be completely immersed in christian college culture like I was; that's a plus.
