Cianna200
Okay so I was browsing the internet and I saw a website that gives Christians 2 questions deadly to their faith, here are the two and why they are toxic to Christians 1. If God ordered you to dash babies against a rock, rip pregnant women open, kill heathens and commit genocide like he did in the bible would you do it? If the christian replies yes than they reveal themselves as fiendish psychopaths like Adolf Hitler If they reply no, than their faith in the old testament God is false and they are actually non believers going to hell according to their own doctrine 2. Do you agree with the murders of god in the bible? If they say yes than they worship an evil God If they say no than they are admitting that they don't agree with everything in the bible, thus making them hypocrites when it comes to quizzical non believers If Christians refuse to answer any of these two questions than they are what is defined as a ''doubting Thomas'' According to the person who created the site, several Christians emailed replying that they do agree with the murders and they would kill babies, heathens and commit genocide
FreeThinkerNZ
It's quite a sickening thought, isn't it? That beneath such apparently "normal" exteriors lurk individuals who would do such things. Reminds me how glad I am to be free of religion.
Roz
You should've seen the way the christians who visit the Den try and reason out all of these issues.
midniterider
You should've seen the way the christians who visit the Den try and reason out all of these issues. Yes, whole races of babies need to be wiped out because God is aware of their genetic predisposition to be icky people. God creates whole races of people with bad DNA so he can then kill them before they grow up and harm society? lol.
rach
I don't know what a-mum would say to the first but as for the second, yes she does agree with all that God did in the bible. All of the murders. She also does believe that Abraham was a great man for offering Isaac at the alter. I think she would stab me if she thought God was telling her to. She also does not believe that God did anything wrong or abusive by butchering his child, Jesus.

Of course, consistency is an over-rated virtue in the context of adherence to acts of psychopathic cruelty... Presumably they would rationalize that god is good, that his ways are higher than ours, so are incomprehensible, and therefore it is right to do whatever is commanded regardless of how it looks Clearly it is our carnal, evil side that expects an account of a god who expects to be thought of as "loving" to actually suggest that he behaves as if he loves his creation... seven77
1. If God ordered you to dash babies against a rock, rip pregnant women open, kill heathens and commit genocide like he did in the bible would you do it? God would never ask us to murder another living being. That is the enemy speaking to you! Get down on your knees and praise Jesus, stat! 2. Do you agree with the murders of god in the bible? God giveth and he taketh away. It is not for us to question. -------- One of my biggest issues with Christianity was the way in which my old church let God off of the hook for his misdoings. I've heard those old lines of "his ways are not our ways" and "punishment for sin, due to the fall, etc." too many times to count. What it really boils down to is God accountable or not? If he isn't accountable, then what's the point of it all? If he isn't accountable for all of the lives he has taken, then how can we hold him responsible for the lives he has supposedly created? My conclusion is that he has NEVER been responsible or accountable for any of it. God is a petty dictatorial reflection of human nature and that is all. If you sin, it's your fault. If you die, you'd better hope that he liked you and that you go to the afterlife after party in the sky. Am I surprised that Christians would kill if God told them to do so? No. I've met Christians who told me that they would gladly obey God no matter what. I've seen Christians on the news who have killed, raped and stolen, all because God told them to, said it was okay, and so on. God is no better than the sum of all mankind because he is nothing more than a shared daydream based on ancient near east folklore.
Ellinas
We have terms for people who kill having heard the voice of god telling them so to do. "Mad" is one of the most common.

Gamecock1973
"d'aw that's just the old testament, god would never do that now" - is what i imagine any christian replying with Yeah, this is the most frustrating disconnect my christian family and friends have. They just write off the entire old testament without thinking about it. The concept that it is the SAME god as their precious, loving, meek Jesus does not compute. Ugh. BendyLine
You're just taking those verses out of context.
Super Moderator TheRedneckProfessor Posted June 9, 2014 Super Moderator Share Posted June 9, 2014 "d'aw that's just the old testament, god would never do that now" - is what i imagine any christian replying with Paying tithes is also an old testament concept. It is never mentioned in the new testament. In fact, the new testament version of christianity is more aligned with socialism than anything else. I'll bet this week's tithes that most christians don't know this.
