bfuddled
I ran across Valerie Tarico on the Thinking Atheist podcast and I'm in love! She's a psychologist and looks at the question of God/belief from that angle, and I found it extremely enlightening. She has a few series of Youtube Videos, I really liked the Psychoanalyzing God series. It explains how/why humans created God in OUR image, with human emotions and tendencies. She goes on to explain how this anthropomorphism is likely an evolved trait that allows us to survive in a largely socially and verbally determined human existence. It's fascinating stuff!

bfuddled
I just got a funny picture of God sitting on a psychiatrist's couch. I know, right? When you think about it, God really has some issues, mostly anger management problems. He could also be described as an abusive parent/partner, among other things.
