Famous Quote

What do you think of this quote I'm sure many of you have heard it.

"The greatest trick of the devil, was convincing people he didn't exist."

My response: The greatest liar is illusion, convincing people that a perfect god made one mistake, creating an evil lesser god that will beat him in the end.

What do you think about the devil's existence quote?

idk where it was from:

"the greatest trick of god, was convincing people he didn't exist either"

also: if god cared enough, he'd let me know satan exists. but he seems to not even care enough to show me that he himself exists.

christianity will tear your sanity to shreds...

This was the greatest trick of Xanthor the All-Powerful as well.  Haven't heard about him now have you?  The devil sucks compared to him when it comes to this whole making people think he doesn't exist trick.  And there are others that I can't even mention because I don't even know who they are.  Now *they're* in it to win it.

What do you think about the devil's existence quote?

Not much.  It's simply part of a larger mythology.

The greatest trick of the devil was convincing people to believe the Bible.

What do you think about the devil's existence quote?

It serves the same purpose as "do not question god", "god works in mysterious ways", "do not pay any attention to the man behind the curtain", etc etc etc.

It is simply to shut down critical thinking and enforce the official story.  It is meant for fence sitters or backsliders, to try and convince them they are being tricked by satan into not believing...

"in it to win it" - That made me laugh 'till I cried. I guess that makes horror writers like H. P. Lovecraft the foremost enemies of Evil. Exorcists only fight the devils we know, but horror writers publicize the ones we don't.

If you are a christian you would not look at it like that.

I have not met one ever that thinks the devil was a mistake. Somehow they all think he needs to exist in order to give gods plan a meaning. Plan you say? yes plan. the plan is there is no plan.

I think this about the quote and one for the road...

“We are each our own devil, and we make this world our hell.”

-Oscar Wilde (I think from the Dutchess of Padua but I am not totally sure)

"There's a sucker born every minute"

Pretty much the most important thing ever said by a human.

What do you think about the devil's existence quote?

The greatest trick of Christianity was to create a mythological being to frighten people into their fold.  It was probably an inevitable development to try to explain "evil" and "sin" in the light of a supposed all-powerful, all-good god.

My take on the devil's existence is that he doesn't.
