Leo Posted August 4, 2014 Share Posted August 4, 2014 There a lot on asceticism and other factors also. I remember my Wife would go on these retreats when we lived in FL. They were exhausting affairs, full of music, praying, crying, teaching and such. I wasn't there. I was at home with the daughter, and really didn't get into the male equivalent. One thing I noticed, women who returned home from these were very tired and unhappy. It was not the "refreshing" it was supposed to be. It seemed a lot of expectations, mixed with pampering also, but a lot of late late nights and early early mornings, constant going going going. Again, I was observing from outside the fishbowl.
