Given that The Bible promises that most people are going to Hell, Given that The Bible teaches that God likes killing people,  that Jesus talks in riddles, that we cannot be saved if God doesn't want us in Heaven....given these things, how dare Christians call The Bible the "Good" book and the threats of Jesus and his dad "Good" news

Excellent points. I'm still waiting to hear why Christianity is associated with "family values" despite that Jesus began his ministry by grabbing several youths from their parents, prompting generations of Christian missionaries until the present day to do the same.

I don’t get the Christian family values stance either.

The Bible is hostile to the family, Jesus spoke rudely to his mother, and humans are instructed to abandon their families. Virginity is praised as a greater virtue than marriage.

As the church used to uphold these “values” and encourage them, one wonders how this modern interpretation of Christian family values has taken hold in people who should dread their Bibles and know better.

Funny how well that typo actually works there.

Why do they call it the good book"? Because they don't know what the bible says; they only know what their preacher says the bible says. And he says it's the ''good book". Most Xtians think that are humble folks,  too. Yet they "know" their god is real because they  feel it in their hearts. They know it by their emotions. So, when a sane person says to them that adherents of virtually all other religions say they feel the same way about their god, the Xtian responds by saying that adherents of other religions are either lying or deceived. In other words, everyone who believes in a god or gods is deceived or crooked, except for them. Nothing arrogant about that, is there?    bill
