Bedouin
I'm planning on doing some research on the Christian bible. I want to get to know it better than most Christians, so that I can make better arguments against their beliefs. What would be the best version to use? mymistake
If you are going to make a permeant record then KJV is public domain and has no copyright protection. If you are planing to do it all verbally then I would pick the current popular version. Whatever your local Bible store carries the most.
directionless
I bought a copy of the "ESV Single Column Journaling Bible" by Crossway. I think the ESV is supposed to be more accurate than NIV.

♦ ficino ♦
Make sure you include the Apocrypha, which is scripture for Catholics and Orthodox but not Protestants! Esp. do a riff on the verses that Catholics use as a major proof text for Purgatory, heh heh.
Justus
Jeremiah 31:33 might be a good place to look for the answer to your question....
Moderator TrueFreedom Posted September 25, 2014 Moderator Share Posted September 25, 2014 KJV is most widely accepted. NAS probably has the most accurate and literal NT translation. Young's Literal is a good resource.
