I Prefer Ex-C Over Facebook! Glory!

I just posted this to Facebook and I meant every word of it:

I find myself spending more time lately at the Ex-C forums than I do here on Facebook. I have many good friends there who love and appreciate me, and of course that is true here too. But over at Ex-C, I enjoy a lot more real interaction, whereas here most of my posts go ignored, regardless of the subject content. So... naturally, I am hanging out more where I get more interaction and appreciation. It feels good to be wanted, needed, and appreciated. I do get that here on FB too at times, but not nearly to the extent that I get it on Ex-C.

My Christian friends wouldn't approve of Ex-C. We have a common bond there of having traded in religious belief in favor of the real world. And it is an awesome community of caring, friendly, and compassionate people. I feel right at home there and feel wanted and appreciated there, whereas here I am lucky to get any of my posts acknowledged in any way, other than by a handful of people who may give me a "like" or a comment occasionally.

Anyway... I am noticing a big difference in how I am received between the two sites, and right now I will take the Ex-C forums over Facebook. I will still be around here, just probably not as much. I realize that not many people will miss the posts about farting or the posts about religion. But I have a lot to share otherwise too that is positive and that is meant to be uplifting and helpful to others, and unfortunately even that generally goes ignored. I guess I'm burned out on accepting the lack of real social interaction here on FB and I'm ready to go where I get it enthusiastically on a regular basis. I think that would be true of anybody.

My 2 cents, and I'm sorry if this hurts or offends anybody. It's not intended that way. Thanks for reading/listening and thanks for understanding.

I feel wanted, needed, and appreciated here at Ex-C. Not so much most of the time over on Facebook. Guess where I prefer to spend my time online these days? Glory!

actually ex-c is a better forum than christian forum

in christian forum they united when non-christians write something but after that they fight each other to death about doctrine

in here, you are very supportive and  even very patient to christians

ex-c an ex-christian forum with more friendly attitude and support than christian forum

oh the irony

I don't know anyone here very well yet, but every time I see one of your posts, I take note. I enjoy your writing immensely :)

Ex-C is definitely a great place to learn a lot, ask questions and get good answers, and express my own thoughts and experiences.  I have found so much to be helpful here, sometimes very thought-provoking, sometimes very funny!

I'm seeing this post at a time when I thinking of doing the same thing. I've been active on FB because I belong to a group consisting of former members of our church and we understand each other better than those from other churches because of our unique theology. But, the group is composed of people that have gone in many different directions after leaving. Many of them still attend some kind of church or have Christian beliefs so while we agree with each other on the post we don't in the present. I would estimate there are about 50% unbelievers.

The other thing about FB is that you can put your heart into what you may think is a thought provoking post and within a short time it's just buried by newer posts unless it soon becomes active so that it stays near the top. So, timing is a factor.

One of the plusses of FB is that you can usually get immediate reactive. I suppose we have come to expect that in our society of instant gratification.

I meant to say that we agree with each other on the past instead of post. One letter can make a big difference.
