Kirk Cameron's "saving Christmas" Movie Is Doing So Bad, He's Begging Fans For Good Reviews On Rotten Tomatoes

After the approval rating for his ‘Saving Christmas’ preaching fest sagged below 10 percent, Cameron turned to Facebook to ask his devout followers to write a good review on Rotten Tomatoes to get more people in the theatres.

“Send the message to all the critics that WE decide what movies we want our families to see!” Cameron said. “If 2,000 of you (out of almost 2 million on this page) take a minute to rate Saving Christmas, it will give the film a huge boost and more will see it as a result!”

Ha. And here's some even better news - looks like his request backfired, so far the audience approval rating has sunk from 94% to 40%

My personal favourite review:

"With a smile so wide and laughter that sounds so forced you half-expect the camera to pull back to reveal hostage takers"

After Thanksgiving, I'd expect the movie to get a boost from a lot of churches scheduling group outings to see it. I hope not, but it wouldn't surprise me.

How does it go from 10% to 90% then down to 40%? The OP is kinda confusing.

Its the audience rating, not the critic rating. The critic rating started at 10% and is now down to 8%. The audience rating went from 90% to 40%

This critique was pretty awesome --

" The oft-repeated formula here is to take something that exists and is beloved, and then work backwards to find a way to make it Biblically-inspired. Had “Saving Christmas” run any longer, Cameron would no doubt have found a way to find the divinity in Frosty, Rudolph, the Grinch, peppermint bark, the Elf on the Shelf, frosted cranberry hand soap and Mr. Hanky the Christmas Poo."

Btw, I believe the ratings/opinions have dropped even further since this thread was started.

I wonder if they show a banana even once in this movie? Ha-ha!

My wife and some of her friends did a moms night out and went and saw this movie. When she got back, I asked her about the movie, knowing it was getting horrible ratings. She said she really liked it and that she liked how kirk tied everything together to show how Christmas, even if it started as a pagan holiday, really pointed to God and Jesus. I challenged her on what Kirk said about Santa Claus and she fought me on it. I was able to show her that what Kirk said wasn't the whole truth. She didn't like that. We left it there, or else it would have blown up into something bad. Thanks Kirk for complicating my life to forward your stupid agenda.

Seriously the more attention that people give this clown the more he will show up honking his nose and screaming LOOK AT MEEEEEEEE...

I would gladly kick him in the crotch.

What really kinda floored me is the full title of the movie. It's, 'Kirk Cameron's Saving Christmas'! He actually plays the role of himself in the movie and so does his real-life sister.

How low can someone go? How much money was wasted on the production/distribution of that film and was it really an honest effort? It sounds like the movie is deliberately phony!

The more he gets "persecuted" the more right he is. Even if it were a 0% and the movie was a complete financial failure it would just strengthen his resolve. Satan was up to no good and now it's spiritual warfare!

I have seen this guy in other christian movies and the acting is so bad it makes a porn movie look like an academy award consideration. Who cares, this guy has been running around with his own personal messiah ray comfort for years condemning people to hell including other christians. One of the infinite problems with christians is that they think that they speak for the majority of people, and that they are doing everyone a service when really everyone wants these people to just go away. At this point it doesn't make me mad so much as i think it's just sad. I really hope these people just go away and christianity and it's demonic god die out for good. Merry pagan xmas

Sounds like the only person complicating your life is your wifes stubborness that is keeping her from accepting that the "good guy" Kirk is actually just a pathological liar for christ.

Sucks when people take offense to reason being put in their face.

How can something that started as a pagan holidy point towards something that happened after that fact? It really doesn't point to anything but commercialism in the US...

Sorry if this all seems harsh I am just sick of this nut job and people even giving him any time at all to think about or talk about him. Treating people like him like a stray dog or a relative you are obligated to talk to would be a good start. He is a really good example of the sickness that is religion and the lies it breeds in most people that follow them.

You mean sort of like Kirk himself?

I would wager he gets caught touching himself Paul Reubens style one of these days or it comes out that he molested someone.

He just seems like he is a whole ball of hidden skeletons in his closet waiting to come out so he twist it later and sound even more a fuck than he already is.

The guy is seriously playing people.

Who says Christians can't be narcissists? Dang, this guy is annoying.

I remember watching his TV program with Ray Comfort, "The Way of the Master" when I was a xian. I felt really uncomfortable at how these two approached people and really got in their faces. I immediately thought that there must be something wrong with me. Wow, shows you how manipulative these people can be.

He makes an ass of us all just for existing at this point.

He makes all humans look bad and if aliens are looking down watching us I truly hope they don't judge us based on his lame ass :)

For a bit of humor, there's one good thing in that all.

If the Borg exist and come over to assimilate us, they'll take one close look at kirk the jackass and decide to hurry back home lest they get infected with his idiocy just by staying in orbit too long :P

Your so right. I hate that verse that says blessed are you when persecuted. No matter what you say to these people, even when your trying to be honest and show them the reality of the bible, they just think they are being persecuted and tallying up more points for heaven. -uhg

Gawd is it boring on here today. Perhaps kirk cameron should have tried saving thanksgiving.

Maybe one day he will get it through his head and save us from himself and stop producing TV movies.
