The361view Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 By impact I mean did it make it stronger or weaker? Did it scare you right back into the faith or make you question your faith? I have to admit, all the illuminati symbolism in the media played a huge role in instilling fear into me about the world. I still resent all of the occult symbolism being shown in the media because, while it might be simply a marketing strategy for shock value, some naive mind out there is going to fall for it and run to their nearest church to be protected from "the world." That shit almost kept me in the faith for good *shudders* so those damn music video directors need to stop beating a dead horse (and of course stop spreading mass paranoia).
violetbutterfly Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 Not the illuminati specifically, but yes I was brainwashed into thinking that all these satanic messages and symbols were everywhere and only jaysus could save me from them.
Penguin Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 Not the illuminati specifically, but yes I was brainwashed into thinking that all these satanic messages and symbols were everywhere and only jaysus could save me from them. That. Seeing violetbutterfly's signature makes me think of all the times that brainwashing was on the subject of sex. Basically: 1. Sex is dirty, nasty, and wrong. That's why you only do it with people you love. 2. All men are perverted dogs who can't help themselves. They should feel like shit for this and try to change anyway. 3. Women are all princesses to be obeyed and put on pillars, served at their every whim. 4. If it sounds like innuendo, it is. 5. It's not okay to see a person and recognize they are physically attractive. You must only like someone on the basis of their personality. Never mind that a cross looks pretty phallic. Hrm. 1
FarflungWanderer Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 I was never really affected by the whole Illuminati thing. To a large degree, the whole "liberal conspiracy to destroy America" thing, but to the Illuminati. Besides, they always got it wrong; the all-seeing eye was a Masonic symbol, not an Illuminati one.

Thank you! I get so sick and fucking tired of people treating the all-seeing eye as a symbol of the Illuminati. My grandfather was a Mason, so he made sure I knew the basic symbols.

traveller2 Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 After 2000 yes, mainly coz I never went online till then so suddenly got this helpful exposure.i reckon it gave me enough madness and hysteria to keep my christian life darkly vital for another decade else it might have died earlier of boredom. It wasn't long after deconversion that i joined the masonic lodge and as for those symbols I educated myself about; hehehe I joined the illuminists by getting many of them tattooed on my body, they look really good.
VahnBlue Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 I was practically out of religion until like the illuminati scare from 2007-2009, backwards songs, youtube conspiracists, practically made me run back after about 3 years of initial leave.
Blood Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 The Illuminati -- like God, Jesus, and Satan -- doesn't exist. 1
Penguin Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 The Illuminati was a thing, but it isn't anymore. I never saw any "Illuminati fear-mongering" because it wasn't there.
Geezer Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 I did reach the point that I figured it was hopeless. There was simply no way to do enough or live perfectly enough to please God. I realized it was impossible to live a sinless life, but as a Christian I had the responsibility to defeat sin in my life. God would forgive you but you couldn't just continue to sin. Christianity is the ultimate catch 22. It became clear the great enlightening, indwelling of the Holy Spirit, and being in Christ thing just wasn't going to cut it.
zuker12 Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 Yes, in many ways and directions. It initially sparked my transition from a rather mundane belief in something "god" or something positive in life into a very grim and strict, like instantly my life was turned into a kind of center of conflict. Alliances and obedience under the duress of death mattered more than life itself. Pretty soon it started to get to me and everything felt hellish. I had a very dark time due to it, leading to a nice depression aand escalating my already harmful obsession issues. I pretty much gave up everything and relegated myself into end of the world and conspiracy sites. Aside from that and trying to be atleast somewhat active in school, i just slept. Not much of a life i had in me, during that period. At times it strenghtened my faith, but in the end, the contradictions, the hellish strictness, the unavoidable eevil influence that was apparently everywhere, led me to doubt everything. Basically, it created my faith and destroyed it. After some time, i just gave up. I didnt see things the way they did, nor was it any more helpful in my life and in the end isnt much different from how fundamentalist apologetists approach issues of faith.

The361view Posted February 11, 2015 Author Posted February 11, 2015 Nice to hear about your experiences. But I hope you all have put all of that fear-mongering behind you like I have. It just feels so good to not think that some secret society is out to get you and is part of the end-times movement by satan lool. It just really goes to show that all of that occult imagery really is doing more harm then just being controversial and edgy. Like, can someone tell these music video directors that? Do they realize the immense harm that they do? Maybe this is why music sales are down these days. I was watching Madonna's performance at the Grammys and it just hit me. Someone out there, or rather, a whole new group of naive people out there are going to fall for the bait. They're going to go on vigilantcitizen.com like I used to and get fed more mind-numbing fear propaganda. After 2000 yes, mainly coz I never went online till then so suddenly got this helpful exposure.i reckon it gave me enough madness and hysteria to keep my christian life darkly vital for another decade else it might have died earlier of boredom. Wow, I would love to hear more about your experiences in the lodge. I've been told they're evil and satanic. What do they even do at lodges?
zuker12 Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 Masonic lodges hardly are satanic... true, they have eccentric philosophies, and thus, all kinds of people tend to join them. They aint fundamentalist churches. I guess the only term you could apply to them that i hear sometimes is "satanistic humanistic" which of course is just rather derogatory and silly and somewhat an oxymoron.
VahnBlue Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 hate to break it to some of though. Illuminati might not exist, but what is fact is that our country is indeed a disguised Oligarchy, ran by the top bankers of the world; whom more than likely control what happens behind the scenes, because they hold majority of the world's money and therefore have the most control. Within that, I'm sure they have it all set up to keep us in place and try to distract us from the real issues in life, with random scare tactics like the Ebola situation for instance. Made a big deal about it and caused panic, then nobody notice how it all got swept under the rug and just disappeared out the backdoor. Everybody suddenly stopped talking about within that week or so. Same with the H1N1 scare. All these seems to happen whenever real issues pop up in the Nation, again, to side track us on the real issues at hand. Anything to not keep us from progressing(the people of the nation, not the wildly corrupt government). Our votes mean nothing, btw. It's all predetermined.
zuker12 Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 I dont think anyone is denyinh the existence of the elite nor conspiracies. Some conspiracy theories go out the roof though. Makes me wonder how much of those is "disinformation" lol. Though the reality leaves us with little choice aside from trying to make the best of what weve got. Theres little point in dwelling on the issue. I do think more and more people everyday realize what kind of a rugged game it is. Going paranoid and obsessive on the issue is the worst thing you can do... was for me anyway.
