A Complete Lack Of Self Reflection

A couple of weeks ago I work for one day for an agency. They didn't pay me, I phoned they did not pick up, I text, they didn't answer. I phoned back, this time they answered and said the money would be paid that day.......it wasn't.

Now I could take it further, shout down the phone at them, send them an invoice, etc, but for £36 it.s not worth it......

Now I come to my point. These ladies who run the agency, will on the laws of average get ripped off at some point in their lives. a mechanic may massively over charge them. they might buy something that is faulty and the sell might invite them to sod off when they complain.........should this event occur, no doubt they will be up in arms, complaining to friends and family and possibly "twiiter"....it will not occur to them they keep owed wages to themselves, which is theft....they will have no sense of reflection.

in 2010 I was working for a logistic company about 20 miles from home. Anyway one of my co-workers had a thing against immigrants. He would now and then whine his distaste. One day he said him and his partner were looking to live in Australia to get away from the immigrants in the UK........making him an immigrant, yet he couldn't see it, at all.......no sense of reflection, again

This is perhaps more to do with greed than self reflection ,but still....David Cameron had a son who was disabled and Cameron (already an millionaire) claimed everything for him from the state. You name it, if the child was eligible for a state hand out, Cameron claimed it.........sadly the child died, which is awful for the parents of course.....  yet now he has been given his Prime Minister slippers and the keys to Number 10 , he has over seen a massive "reform" of the benefit system, leaving some disabled people and their carers to the point of destitution

Actually to answer my own post......I did take it further and after some very unpleasant phone calls they paid me, but it was all stress and a battle I could have well done without....still a win is a win so I am happy

I totally understand your point… and yes I agree, the vast majority of people are not self-reflective. it may caused be greed, or a number of things - but it is a lack of introspection in the end.

I don't get it, but there it is.

I don't get it either.  And when someone is in a position of power and ends up financially hurting those below them with no regard at all, that's despicable.  I used to work for a place where the manager would be all ears and sympathy, but would always say either, "I wish I could help, but 'corporate' [that unknown 'corporate' in another building with no apparent access] has my hands tied," or "That's a great idea and I'll run that by 'corporate' and maybe someday we can implement that."  Yep.
