nukedkitty
I'm sure most of you have heard the christians spiritual view on smoking cigarettes. That smoking does not effect the believer's salvation over all. Well lets look at this idea closer by comparing it to another possible addiction that christians do claim can effect peoples salvation. Porn. Ok we have Porn and cigarettes, both are addictive, both can cause pain and suffering, both can break down the family unit(Cancer breaks up the family unit) but only one addiction has a higher mortality rate. So I ask you, why would christians say that smoking can not effect the salvation of the believer?
SnarkyAntiTheist
So I ask you, why would christians say that smoking can not effect the salvation of the believer? Growing up in the northern US, I had never heard of this until I had an internship in the south when I was 16. Up here, smoking was considered taboo by almost any fundy christian except maybe some Catholics. Down south, a good portion of the population earned their living from tobacco growing. So the answer is simple: Money.
mymistake
Porn addiction is very rare. Don't buy into Christian propaganda. Christians claim porn addiction is something everyone is in danger of but mostly that is driven by Christian demands of zero tolerance for porn. When restrictions are lifted and moderate use is seen as normal pornography is no longer a big deal.
