Penguin Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 I was reading this article: http://www.gotquestions.org/dualism.html What stood out to me is this: Whenever any doctrine portrays good and evil as two equal opposing forces, that doctrine contradicts the scriptural position that good, represented by God Almighty, is the dominant power in the universe. What I found interesting is that God is the dominant power in the universe by default. The implication seems to be that because he is the dominant power, he is assumed to be good. In other words, it seems that in the case of God, "might makes right." I can think of historical human examples where this concept was definitely not good (the Nazis are one such example). In this light, the personified "Satan" of LaVeyan Satanism makes more sense. Were he an actual entity in LaVeyan theology, he would have many positive attributes because of God's dominance. It seems he would only be regarded as evil because he is weaker.
mymistake Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Kim Jong Un is the dominant power in North Korea so Un is the source of good in North Korea.
sdelsolray Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Many thoughts, ideas and concepts contradict, challenge or refute various individuals' interpretations of Christian Scripture.
amateur Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 But god wears a white hat. Right? God says he is good in the bible, which god supposedly inspired people to write. If I were to write a book about myself, I'd make myself pretty great, too. Why not? It's my book. 1
