Ascension To Mental Clarity (Poem)

Recommended Posts

i wrote this poem recently. it's basically about my departure from the christian faith and things I learned on my current path...my independent spiritual path. i have learned a lot ever since i started practicing spirituality in my own way, and living my life in a way that agrees with my beliefs/opinions/morals. hope you like

Transformation

Metamorphisis

Ascension to mental clarity

The opening of the 3rd eye

What do you see?

Nothing is the same, is it?

Your perception has been shaken;

Your false consciousness has been tested

The decisions you make that do not benefit you

Have become easier to identify.

You are self aware

You have come to acceptance of who you are

You have become a nurturing mother to yourself

You wish to be well.

A passionate desire to make a positive change

Is conceived within your soul

You accept the cruel and bitter parts of existence...

No longer do they bring you grief.

Your soul tastes the freedom of inner balance

Taking in all elements of life

While running after your determined dreams.

One with Nature, at peace with everything and everyone around you.

You quit sitting in your imagined rut;

A dark state of mind where you were once comfortable.

Your arms are wide open to both

The light and the dark, now,

For one cannot be without the other.

Nature is beautiful, and, at times, terrifying.

Such is life.

The refusal to accept all elements of life,

Including the ones we aren't so fond of,

Is futile.

FlowerDemon:  that was beautiful.  Thoughtful.  Creative.  Inspirational.

A person only has a few times in their lives when their eyes are opened and they undergo a personal transformation. Thanks for sharing yours.   M.

The pain, then the comfort, of growth.

"The refusal to accept all elements of life,

Including the ones we aren't so fond of,

Is futile."

So true!

After pain comes acceptance.

I enjoyed reading your poem. I can so identify. Religion is so negative. It strips one of self and fills one with fear of everything. Fear of the world, fear of nature, fear of simply being. Are you familiar with Derek Walcott's poem, Love After Love? It's about meeting and celebrating self. Thanks for sharing your beautiful poem
