What If Everything You Thought Was True, Was Wrong?

Yeah, that's right.

Every religion is wrong and so is all mainstream science. Nothing you believe is true actually is. But wait, there's something you ought to know. There's an alternative way of thinking that just might be your savior, of sorts. The theory of "all" theories, Pantheory!!!

You want the truth?

You can't handle the truth!!!

But for those who can stomach it, count on setting aside everything you ever thought was real and join me in an examination of the true potential of human reality!!! Just kindly click on any one of say a dozen anti-mainstream science threads in this forum. And may the Forest be with you...

Cute, OK, clever ridicule, but in this forum and category I only report on published scientific papers by others and/or what is reported in the science news. They are not my own ideas, but they probably have similarities to my own ideas and writings if I post them. I try to pick writings that have some agreement with my own theories and which also could be an interesting topic for discussion. My response in postings is directly related to questions or comments within the paper or by a poster.  I have been a student of science all my adult life and have written several books and a number of scientific papers with co-authors.  I certainly am pro science.  I believe that most mainstream science theories are generally valid, it's just the primary theories in modern physics that I disagree with and the unnecessary complications and misunderstandings I think they've brought about.

As Michael Disney a renowned physicist and others have said concerning modern cosmology: If present theory is as wrong as he thinks that it is, present day theorists have done a great disservice at a great cost to humanity, both in dollars and has held cosmology and astronomy back for many decades if not a century, including many years to come. Of course wrong-theory, if that's what it is, is not intentional so all can be excused concerning motives.

That every religion is wrong, you can quote me on that one.

But thanks for the comedy relief anyway Joshpantera, we'll see what others have to say  smile.png  Best regards Forrest

If everything I knew was wrong................. I'd grab some whiskey, light a cubano, in front of a fireplace in a nice leather chair.... and.... not care. Honestly. I've been wrong before and I'm sure I'll be wrong again. No biggie.

Sounds good to me.

Pantheory, If it's mainstream thought, it's correct. If it's not mainstream thought, it's incorrect pseudo-science.

Until a few generations die off, at least. :)

The best part of deconverting is that I no longer care that I'm wrong about everything! So is everyone else! :)

So we never went to the moon? Elvis is alive? The Earth is flat?

There are those who can present some evidence for the above. Flat Earth theory especially has some good, even convincing, arguments and proofs, though they lead to a completely false conclusion. Going contrary is sometimes the only way to get noticed or published. On rare occasions there is at least some validity to contrary theories. Typically, the contrary theories have already been considered and discarded by the mainstream.

Did you know baking soda cures cancer? Mainstream science doesn't want you to know that!!!

Totally OT, but I used to have exactly the same Ouroboros-avatar as the OP at another forum.

I do agree that there are bullshit ideas with some evidence backing them as well as bullshit ideas without zero evidence. :)

But there are also good ideas that are now mainstream that were thought to be bullshit contrarian thoughts back in the day. We take them for granted today.

Things like Galileo's heliocentric solar system. Kepler's elliptical orbit of planets. Einstein's photon.

I'm glad you enjoyed the satire.

But seriously, I've been gone a while and I come back and see sky high trolling up and down the science and religion section. What gives? The last I remember BAA was carefully explaining how this type of trolling can be a disservice to the purpose of ex-C. You got the memo, but for some reason still continue to troll the place apart. Why?

I've been a silver patron as you have been, going on two years now. If you see what you think is trolling anywhere, report it.

Well if you really are bitter because your personal theory didn't measure up that is too bad.  Most people go back to the drawing board when they make a mistake.  Let go.  It doesn't have to be the end of the world.  Waging a personal crusade against science is a lost cause and a waste of time.

What sort of logical fallacy have you just proposed?

Appeal to monetary donation status?

Appeal to length of time posting?

What does any of that have to do with trolling up the science and religion forum poking holes at mainstream theoretical models? Does your contribution or length of membership mean that posting countless contrarian threads with the underlying motivation of being an alternative theorist is somehow not trolling up the science and religion section?

I've not reported it. I've chosen to make light of it first. I'd rather face you off myself then taddle tail behind the scenes to the admin and mods. You don't seem to get the point that BAA made to you a long time ago about the meaning and purpose of ex-C. Maybe the admin and mods have come to love it, maybe not. I don't know. But what's obvious is that you've tried to evolve an approach that you think passes as not trolling. I'm not trying to get you banned. I'm trying to get you to account for what it is you think you're doing here by poking holes in mainstream theoretical physics and cosmology?

Not baking soda, pot. Pot cures cancer, makes you taller, more good looking and even cures dropsy. It's all manner of miracle drug.

I read it on FB.
