And, if just reading the article isn't enough to have you punching your computer screen, reading the comments section definitely will.  It looks like they heavily monitor the comments to screen out dissenting views but the author did allow one on slavery.  The author's reply was that it was neither immoral or a sin to own another human being!!!

 

It is truly frightening to realize there are people out there that think like that.

Christians often are partially correct.

 

Slavery isn't a sin. It's just wrong. There is no such thing as sin.

 

And women should know their place. Their place is wherever they want to be with whoever they want to be with doing whatever they want to do... Same as men.

Jedah, thanks for providing some perspective, that last part is quite true as well. Personally, I think a lot of people should just shut the hell up and let their fellow humans live in whatever way they'd like in peace.

I'm probably strange but it made me laugh. Especially the part where his daughter (supposedly) asks for him to write down all these bullshit verses to share with her friends at school! Ha ha! Yes, show your friends how broken your family is! Get written evidence!

 

I also laughed at some of the highlights, one of them being, "don't nag your husband to do the right thing".

 

"Honey, no, that's all our savings you're putting into a pyramid scam!"

 

It's complete absurdity. The whole thing read like an insecure, dumb man wet dream, whose frightened his wife will surpass him mentally.

Reading some of these Bible verses made me laugh. I forgot how ludicrous parts of the Bible are:
 

She dresses in a way that never places her femininity in doubt

The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman’s garment: for all that do so are abomination unto the Lord thy God. – Deuteronomy 22:5 (KJV)

 

Don't get me wrong I love super feminine sexy women with a banging body who dresses in tight clothes and 6 inch stripper heels, but these people really believe that "god" the creator of the universe and everything in it, frets and worries about what his creations are wearing?  Seriously???  Did "god" publish a list somewhere of "approved" attire for women and "approved" attire for men?   What about primitive men and women who had no concept of fashion and wore whatever animal skins they could find just to keep warm?   Did they get a waiver from "god"?GONZ9729CustomImage1541245.gif

One thing that doesn't make sense is how the man is, by default, the ruler. So lets say we had a man who was just one step away from being deemed an idiot who cannot function without assistance, and he's violent, naive, and vulgar on every level. Let's say this man marries a woman who is the opposite; intelligent, gentle, street-wise and proper. Who should be in charge of matters? The man? Should the woman follow him to destruction because he's in charge?

 

I've asked this to Christians before and have been met with uncomfortable verbal-fidgeting. They all respond, "God ordered men to love their wives."

 

"Okay... let's pretend he loves her. No other changes. Should he still be in charge?"

 

It's as if it never occurred to them bad marriages with bad men in them exist.

While I don't believe in the "patriarchy" of Feminist theory, most organized religions are indeed very patriarchal in nature, and the reason for that is very simple: they were founded by men with very patriarchal attitudes.

I've mentioned this in another thread some time ago .............. my X and her husband subscribe to this crap. When I would call her to talk about our kids she couldn't even answer a simple question. She would write them down and call me back in 3 days and every answer was prefaced with, "According to Bob's wisdom..................".

 

How fucked up is that? Couldn't even give her own answer about OUR kids.

This is the first Christian I've seen who thinks women need to respect men as superior, as a group, instead of just wives obeying their husbands. I give him props for being consistent.

 

Edit: I finally was brave enough to read the whole article. I'm actually so used to this drivel from the website by now that it didn't enrage me like I thought it would.

     Shouldn't the holy spirit tell these women how to behave?  Why is god outsourcing this to some blogger?

 

     At the very least these godly xian women should listen to their own husbands and fathers as opposed to this dude.  Seems almost like borderline adultery.  Some guy telling my women how he wants them to act.  Stay out of my family you creep.

And this would indeed be a real issue. According to IQ studies, men's intelligence varies significantly more than women, so while most women are relatively normal, there are far more idiotic men than there are idiotic women.

When I was a kid in church I remember the first time I became skeptical was the whole thing about women.  I knew some girls who were much smarter and capable then some of the boys in my class so it didn't make sense to me that they were treated as less than men, since they clearly weren't. 

 

As a general rule I tend to trust empirical observation a lot more than I trust ancient mythology written by delusional bronze age goat herders....

When my husband and I met and dated in college, he told me later that the other guys in our Christian group whispered to him things like, "You know she's got a 4.0 gpa, right?" He laughed it off, but they were clearly intimidated by the thought of dating an intelligent woman!

 

I don't know why girls in these families are even educated at all. For the tasks expected of them as grown women, very little education is needed. Someday these idiots will wake up and realize that it is education that gives these girls "ideas" that are contrary to the way they are expected to function. Then they will become even more like the Taliban and ban girls from any education at all.
