Fweethawt Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 Isn't this a good thing? Didn't Christianity begin to lose power once it was translated and spread around? http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2016/02/29/the-american-quran-pissing-off-the-saudis.html
mwc Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 Xianity was kind of a monster after it got translated into Latin from Greek. And the whole KJV thing hasn't worked out all that well either. But I see your point. It's more the democratization of the texts which allows everyone to challenge, or cherry pick, what they really mean which puts a bit of a dampening effect on xianity. I imagine that this won't have the same effect since I'm under the impression that only the Arabic really counts in Islam but maybe it will help English speakers from taking up more radical ideas. mwc 1
Daffodil Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 Has to be a good thing if it has people concerned and encouraging followers to stay away from it. Personally, I think education is always a good thing.
