Asimov Posted March 12, 2006 Posted March 12, 2006 It's always seemed pretty equal to me. I have noticed, however, that anytime I'm using a screen name that doesn't make my gender very obvious, it's usually assumed that I'm male. What? You're a girl? Yepper. I know it's hard to tell, what with the name combined with the picture of my boobs. Boobs!
spamandham Posted March 12, 2006 Posted March 12, 2006 Well, there's egg and bacon; egg sausage and bacon; egg and spam; egg bacon and spam; egg bacon sausage and spam; spam bacon sausage and spam; spam egg spam spam bacon and spam; spam sausage spam spam bacon spam tomato and spam... Oh, and I'm female too. The real question then is, is there aqua kitty spam and ham?
Dark Helmet Posted March 12, 2006 Posted March 12, 2006 Ack! There are boobies attached to my chest! Is this what happens when you deconvert from christianity?! WHERE IS MY PENIS??!!!! Oh.....wait....it's coming back to me now. Ah. I've always had boobies. And my penis is right where it belongs....in a drawer beside the stockpile of batteries. *whew* That was close.
Lilith Posted March 12, 2006 Posted March 12, 2006 Open Minded is a girl??? And Fwee is a guy.... WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS WORLD??????? I think the OP just wants a quick list so he can pick up on chicks.

I think the OP just wants a quick list so he can pick up on chicks. Well, Lilith, he may just find he will not get anymore ass than he did as a Xian. Bummer! He might just have to keep asking Rosie out for dates!
Ms. K Posted March 13, 2006 Posted March 13, 2006 Let's see.... My screenname is Ms. K. I'm a WIFE and a MOTHER. I have boobs, and no penis or testicles. I think that qualifies me as a girl.
BlueGiant Posted March 13, 2006 Posted March 13, 2006 Yeah, pretty unfounded. Then again this is the internet, so making assumptions about the gender of others on the other side of the screen is quite a risky proposition.
jrmarlin Posted March 13, 2006 Posted March 13, 2006 Yeah, pretty unfounded. Then again this is the internet, so making assumptions about the gender of others on the other side of the screen is quite a risky proposition. But you have to admit, it does make things very interesting. Does it not?

nirrti Posted March 13, 2006 Posted March 13, 2006 I can bleed for seven days and not die so I guess I'm female.

I have noticed, however, that anytime I'm using a screen name that doesn't make my gender very obvious, it's usually assumed that I'm male. I assumed jrmarlin was a male until I read this thread! In your case, your avatar kind of gives it away.
Rosa Mystica Posted March 13, 2006 Posted March 13, 2006 I'm a gal, too. I don't know if there's more ex-Christian men than women, but I *have* noticed the following trend: male deconverts tend to be atheist/agnostic, while females tend to be some sort of non-Christian theist. There are exceptions to this rule, of course, but this is what I've noticed on other fora (like CF, for instance). On this board, I see quite a few female atheists. Rosa, Theistic Seeker
Guest Tiffany Posted March 14, 2006 Posted March 14, 2006 Correct me if I am wrong,,,,,,but most of the ex christians here seem to be men.Is this correct or unfounded observation, Thanks Gar I'm a woman in a mans body if that counts? Maybe not, ok add me to the male side then.

The Sage Nabooru Posted March 15, 2006 Posted March 15, 2006 Guess! Go on, guess! In general, women do tend to be more spiritual than men. Even when they are in a religion, men tend to be less interested in it than women. For example, it's far more common for a woman to attend religious services every week, whereas a man would more commonly attend only on special occasions and even then not give it much of a thought.
Aqua Kitty Posted March 15, 2006 Posted March 15, 2006 The real question then is, is there aqua kitty spam and ham? I dunno. Are there vikings involved? ...are we negotiating? Depends. Have you got anything without spam?
monsterfeets Posted March 15, 2006 Posted March 15, 2006 Wow I had no idea half you guys were girls ;P I tend to assume everyone is male unless I know for sure otherwise. Don't know why. And I too am female.

That's why church is a great place to meet women. Rather, the church parking lot with a puppy and a leg cast - that way, no sermons. I find that the no sex before marriage caveat is negotiable given a couple of Zimas and a dramatic reading of Song of Solomon. Put on some Michael W. Smith or some Amy Grant, you know, anything so sickeningly white and soulless that your apartment actually smells like bleach after a couple of verses - or better yet, pull out your guitar and wow her with some shit about Jesus that you're just making up as you go along. It'll sound like authentic christian music, guaranteed - no songwriting skill is necessary. When the sparkle in her eye and the heave in her chest is just right, lean in and whisper " God wants me to show you how much He loves you , sister"..... Man, I love church. You women are just so freakin SPIRITUAL! God bless you for it.
