The Mandela Effect & The KJV Bible

Folks, don't ever discount the "secret society" phenomenon.

What I mean is that people who are likely to believe bullshit are always more susceptible to believing ANYTHING if you frame it right.

Give someone facts and figures about your differing opinion, and they may very well reject it out of hand because it's not what they were taught first.

Give them the idea that your information is REVEALED, SECRET truth that only the Truest, Truly TrueBelievers™ can be granted, and they'll likely eat it up.

People don't just want what's "right", like how to tie a square knot. They want what's "true", that is, to believe that they are transcending their ordinariness in the pursuit of loftier goals.

Oh, and to throw in an example of your "Mandela Effect", there was a mass delusion/false-memory thing happening over the last few years where people have insisted that the actor Sinbad starred in a movie playing a wish-granting genie character. It apparently has never happened, even according to Sinbad himself. I remembered seeing adverts for the movie in question, too, and I was gobsmacked to realize that I was probably "remembering" something completely false, but "remembering" it so, so clearly.

I agree with you L.B., the human brain is not nearly as reliable as we would like to believe.  Like others in this thread have previously mentioned, the most logical explanation for the Mandela Effect is false memories.  Another good explanation that was also mentioned deals with the possibility that the "changed" Bible verses in question have been heavily misquoted over the years, and like a game of telephone where the original message is distorted and changed by the time it reaches the last person in line, what we remember as being the truth is not what it originally started out being. Nonetheless, it's kind of fun to research and look into.  I mean who doesn't like to ponder the craziest of possibilities once in awhile?

I've often observed that my wife's memory is so good she can even remember things that never happened.

I've been watching the christian conspiracy angle to the Mandela Effect. What a bunch of idiots. Of course they think that CERN is working in cooperation with the Illuminati towards the aims of the NWO. Red flags going off, red flags!

These christians think that CERN and the ME are spoken of in Revelation. Red flags, red flags!!!

And that these are just small tests before they completely change and eradicate large scale history to make for the anti-christ's NWO! Red flags, red flags!!!!

Yep...  It's pretty disturbing isn't it?  Back when I was a kid, my parents both believed that the world was coming to an end.  They went completely overboard with their attempts to convert the family before the day of judgement.  Talk about embarrassing.

Anyway, my parents made me watch a bunch of end of the world movies when I was around nine years old.  They scared me to the point of tears.  Normally, a good parent would tell his or her kid that the movies were make believe.  Nope, not mine.  My mom told me they were real.  She then told me the only way to not get "left behind" was to give my heart to Jesus.  I promptly got on my knees and prayed for Jesus to come into my heart.

That day truly was the beginning of the end for me, only it wasn't the end of the world - it was the end of me having anything that resembled a normal childhood. I truly feel sorry for the kids out there who I know are being brainwashed by their lunatic parents to believe in all of this end of the world crap... :(
