Who heals the blind and deaf?

Matthew 11:5

 

"The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them."

 

An old man in our church (Passed away many years ago now) believed that he would receive his sight and full hearing. He died blind and nearly deaf.

 

However today medical science is doing what apparently God can't - and with predictable results.

 

Technologies for helping poor eyesight and deafness are getting better. Here are a few vids of deaf people hearing again. Next time someone quotes that verse ask them to show how praying brought back sight or sound.

I rather suspect that your average Christian interlocutor would simply retreat behind some third hand report of suppose miraculous healing.

 

Others, with more imagination and even greater intellectual dishonesty, would claim that god guides the hands of the medics.

 

Either way, your valid point ain't goin' to convince no true believers.
