Goodbye Jesus

Do you have what I am looking for?

Read my intro thread to understand my objective.

So, why am I here? Simple.

I am trying to find people who have put the Laws of Attraction into practice, without being inhibited by typical Christian groupthink.

That said, allow me to clarify, I am indeed a born again Christian, saved by the blood of Jesus Christ my LORD and savior, and as such, I am a Christian, and I acknowledge Jesus as my LORD. BUT...

...I am also a genius, a thinker, and a strategist. I develop tactics, I think outside the box, and I HAVE NO TIME FOR BULLSHIT. Yes, I am a Christian who says the word BULLSHIT. You can talk to me. It's ok. We can have a level headed conversation rooted on PRINCIPLES, but be wary...wrong is wrong, right is right.

But let me pick your brain, folks. Are any of you successful out in your everyday lives? Any six figure earners? Womanizers? BMW/Mercedes Benz drivers? I AM NOT LOOKING FOR PEOPLE ON THIS TYPE OF FORUM WHO ARE STRUGGLING OR KEEP LOOPING AROUND; I HAD TO DEAL WITH ENOUGH OF THAT CRAP ON CHRISTIAN SERVERS.

So, gentlemen and ladies, the question is...can I learn from you, and can you learn from me, and can we grow together? :)

Hi Sight

Can you please explain what you mean by "Laws of Attraction"

And forgive my scepticism but simply because you say "I am also a genius, a thinker, and a strategist. I develop tactics, I think outside the box" does not make it so. Generally you have to show assertions are true in order for them to be accepted. Remember here at ex-c we don't place a high value people saying believe because I say so. If we did we'd still be believing in Jesus because the New Testament says so. Certainly modesty doesn't seem to hinder you :)

I know some very bright people on this forum and I've never seen one of them claim what you just did. You have much to live up to. I trust you are up to the task.

Can we learn from each other? Certainly, so long as we don't talk past each other. Would you agree that learning is not the same as agreeing? For example Burnedout and myself tend to fall on opposite sides of subjects fairly often, but I think its fair to say we have learned a lot about the others view points.

As far as successful in everyday lives - that depends entirely on ones point of view and outlook on life. For me I'd say yes I am successful - and I drive a 17 year old Nissan SW. Do I meet your test?

Cheers

LF

...

I'm not inhibited by typical Christian groupthink.  I conclude the Law of Attraction is pseudoscience and basically nonsense.  So, I'm not one for whom you are searching.

...

That said, allow me to clarify, I am indeed a born again Christian, saved by the blood of Jesus Christ my LORD and savior, and as such, I am a Christian, and I acknowledge Jesus as my LORD.

...

Thanks for the heads up.

...

Impressive.

...

We can have a level headed conversation rooted on PRINCIPLES, but be wary...wrong is wrong, right is right.

...

I suppose you do not have tolerance for mundane statements such as, "I don't know." or "[Fill in the blank] is neither right or wrong, it just is." or "Just not in any way you can demonstrate."

...

But let me pick your brain, folks. Are any of you successful out in your everyday lives? Any six figure earners? Womanizers? BMW/Mercedes Benz drivers? I AM NOT LOOKING FOR PEOPLE ON THIS TYPE OF FORUM WHO ARE STRUGGLING OR KEEP LOOPING AROUND; I HAD TO DEAL WITH ENOUGH OF THAT CRAP ON CHRISTIAN SERVERS.

...

I choose not to disclose my relative success or lack of success, my income, my sexual preferences and endeavors or which cars I drive.

...

So, gentlemen and ladies, the question is...can I learn from you, and can you learn from me, and can we grow together? :)

I don't know.

I don't know.

sdelsolray is less optimistic than I am... also more experienced and probably wiser, so "I don't know" might have be a more correct answer than my "Certainly" one. :)

Laws of attraction = Principles outlined in various success books as to how the world works, and outline the principles successful people have used throughout history to build empires, amass wealth, rule kingdoms & dominate life. One such book is "Think and Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill.

Perhaps time will tell. I don't come as a know it all...if I were, I'd be a multimillionaire yesterday. I'm here because other Christians aren't smart enough to go deep, and I believe the insight of unbelievers might educate me a bit on how to seek the truth.

I come willing to learn and respect. I hope I can expect the same. Also, I have no interest in spreading the gospel of Christ here...I am angry enough trying to justify faith.

I won't talk past you if you won't talk past me. The sharing of perspectives is what made education the way it is. I only state...I come with an objective, and anger against most Christians for not being on my level.

As for success....it's much less what one drives or owns, and more so what one thinks or says.

To a better future.

Something Christians can't seem to answer: What? How? Where? When? Why?

If you're being facetious, then why do you doubt my sincerity?

Not facetious, just suspicious.

Crack on then, what do you want?

Fair enough. I doubt any other Christian who would join this site would say what I've said, let alone continue.

Simple answer: How? How do you? How did you? What did you do?

Christians keep telling me "Jesus is everything". I want to kick them in the teeth. What makes you different

I'm not a Law of Attraction person in the sense that I think there's anything supernatural in play, but overall I'm doing well.  Positive net worth with savings and investments, house and car both paid off, a day job that I enjoy, and a serious hobby (playing woodwinds in local bands) that fulfills a childhood dream to be a musician.

It's a matter of focus, choosing which battles to fight and where to put one's energy.  You have to keep it simple, concentrating your resources and your passions on a few critically important things rather than trying to do it all.

How? thats simple, there is only one person on whom your happiness/wealth/contentment depends on, and thats you.

I see. Maybe that's it.

Then I guess I failed and made bad decisions. I came to Christianity to seek Jesus to fix everything. That did not work.

I guess it's as simple as a positive attitude, then.

Only if the positive attitude is combined with a series of actions leading in the right direction.  Even small things, like tidying a corner of your workspace or making coffee at work rather than running across the street to Starbucks every morning, add up.  Actions that contradict what you're trying to bring into being will put you into a mental state where you distrust yourself, and take you away from your stated goals.

I'll put my thoughts simply: what makes your claim to be a "real thinking Christian" any more valid than my old pastor who claimed Christianity is the "thinking man's religion" when you really aren't supposed to be thinking outside of the Bible as a "True Christian" anyway? What makes your claim different than his?

I think I recognise some of this. I didn't feel particularly "sinful" when I was a Christian, nor did I feel salvation was primarily from my own sins. I wanted salvation to be from my previously horrible life of poverty and illness. I wanted to be in guidance and be granted all the promises of the Bible. Getting everything I need without having to worry about it or plan much. Being guided by the King of Kings who knew everything better than I. What's not to like about that?

Later when I was a more New Agey Christ follower type, I went ahead and performed attraction rituals to get things, continually checking with Jesus that I had his blessing. It seemed to work. I got countless clothes and other small items that were exactly as I pictured. A lot of them were handed over to me for free, the rest were for tiny money.

However, what I think actually worked in those rituals was focusing on what kind of stuff I wanted so I could recognise it, and then actually getting to know people who ran charity stores full of random stuff, free for me to dig through!

I originally thought I had tapped into something supernatural there, but when I started inviting people into my life with the rituals, thought I found the ones I needed, and they abused me in return, I had to admit that what was going on wasn't what I thought.

Now that I live away from those charity stores, I don't have access to free stuff, so I end up with less stuff. Not that mysterious now, looking back on it.

What I see in people who succeed (without inherited wealth) is dedication. Working smart rather than hard. Knowing it's you doing the job, not anyone else. And also knowing the right people to help you along if you need it.

Christianity - Jesus = Judaism.

Why not become a Jew? Jesus was a Jew. He was not a Christian.

Some of the most successful people in the world are Jews.

...I am also a genius

And yet in another thread you had the audacity to say that everyone else here had a "better than you attitude." Nope, you're the one with that attitude. Get over yourself.

Concise and to the point. Great post!

I can now answer this question with absolute certainty:

We do not have what you are looking for.

You might need to find a site of wise geniuses who are Christians that want to bypass Jesus?

Us Ex-Christians just ask too many hard questions.

Nah, if he found a site full of geniuses, then he'd just accuse them of having a "better than you attitude." What he wants is a site full of people who'll hail him as the genius, since it's only OK for him to have a better than you attitude.

Hi sight. You sound just like the type of person I would like to hang out with. Most people are beneath me here on Ex-c. (but I can't tell them that of course!! )  They struggle financially and mentality, wear second hand clothes and most can't afford teeth. And they don't have much education either. I stay here cause I feel so sorry for them.

I am very rich financially. And I am also very beautiful and a genius. I can barely go outside for the media chasing after me to put me on front pages of magazines. My house is an 11 bedroom mansion. I also have a 70 foot swimming pool in my backyard. I throw parties every month for 100 high society people of my caliber. My car, a Rolls Royce is brand new because I would never consider having a one year old car. It is parked in one of my four garages by the private helicopter.

But this is my secret to how I got rich. I am a phony full time preacher who manipulates the flock of naive people out there in the big world to give me tons of tithes and money blessings. The church is the best way to get rich. (except politicians, CEO's, etc...they also are high manipulating people and know how to get rich) But the church is still the easiest way. I don't really believe in god but I pretend to. Of course, I give the poor and middle class people in my church a good sermon to give them hope that god will really look after them too. (It's only fair?) Yes, they think god will bless them.... but I know better. It's a great job..... and I didn't even have to use the law of attraction.  :3:  And if you can be especially magnificent in your preaching, you can become famous and travel the whole world for free!! And all I had to do was preach from a silly 2,000 year old book.

I also like sex 4 times a day.

Bless you on your venture and welcome to Ex-c!

(hug)

Ah, but does the God of the bible let you think outside his box?
