whitehorse Posted May 29, 2017 Posted May 29, 2017 The media loves a bad story, oh and here we'll throw in one story of the successful mating of panda bear's. With their smiling make-up plastered faces, they candidly report the worse of the worse. Well how many faces of true evil can there be? Then there's sport, sport and more sport, and then the weather. What sick mind invented such a format, I call these people the Negos. Because they use a negative to enforce a positive. 1
Wertbag Posted May 29, 2017 Posted May 29, 2017 Print media is dying, TV news will follow. As technology allows us more freedom to chose what news, at what time, in what format people will continue to flock to internet news sites. I've long since stopped watching TV news for the very reason you state. As their advertising dollar starts to suffer they will find new ways to liven it up but they can never compete with on demand programming. 2
Moderator LogicalFallacy Posted May 29, 2017 Moderator Posted May 29, 2017 @Whitecloud I think you've hit on a major reason my many Christians are perpetually thinking the world is ending. 8 billion people there is bound to be bad news - enough to fill your day, but if you don't get a counter perspective of all the good going on you think the world is heading to hell in a hand basket! For all the wailing that Christians do about how terrible society is, if they switched off from all news they'd think the world was a nice happy little place because they'd view it as they saw it - not as was fed to them minute by minute. 3

It's true, things are better than what is portrayed on TV.
