Moderator LogicalFallacy Posted July 1, 2017 Moderator Posted July 1, 2017 This is half theological half science but I'll put it here: In 1 Corinthians 15:39 Paul says this: "All flesh is not the same flesh: but there is one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of beasts, another of fishes, and another of birds." As we know know through DNA sequencing, all life on earth share the same building blocks of life, we are all made of the same genetic code with various variations. (Probably a bit simplistic due to my lack of education there) It's possibly a non starter, but what is your take here? Is Paul saying humans, animals, birds, and fish are different in a physical sense from each other? Many Christians claim that humans are not animals, and not related to them in anyway. We of course know this to be false. Can this tie into what Paul is claiming here as an argument of how science disagrees with the bible?
Rounin Posted July 1, 2017 Posted July 1, 2017 It's a bit too vague to be considered a falsifiable statement, if you ask me. Certainly, his division into these four categories is unscientific to say the least, but it doesn't seem like this division is in any way central to his point.
Jeff Posted July 1, 2017 Posted July 1, 2017 Christians dont care. However a couple of people starting to deconvert will find this very useful as one more brick in the wall hopefully. Good catch there.
