Saying that gold came from two neutron stars colliding is a big change in theory, since textbooks teach that the heavy elements all came from supernova explosions. Maybe both could be the source of gold? Anyway, I suggest one should always be aware that some of the best theories can ultimately be wrong so one should not be surprised when such theories are overturned; IMO Especially be aware if the theory does not seem logical concerning its explanation.
