Goodbye Jesus

So Frustrated

We've had more emergencies and more car troubles and we've lost every last bit of savings. If a friend hadn't volunteered to pay my wife to run an errand today, we would have had not one dollar for food in our house.

What does my wife say about it?

"God has just been showing me that we need to trust him when we have nothing - I have such a peace (gawd how I hate that phrase!) about not having anything - God will provide."

'God' hasn't bothered to magically reveal to his people in our life that we need financial help - we associate with people in some pretty lucrative jobs, too.

Yay, God - thanks for all you've done for me!

Next time she complains about something.... you know the drill...

"What? You slammed your finger in the door? Oh Praise Jesus ! I have such a peace knowing the God has given us the opportunity to pray for healing."

...

On the one hand, yes it's an absurd religious preoccupation to be praising God for life's calamities but I can also see that Christians probably say stuff like this to keep from having a nervous breakdown or crying all day long because life is being shitty at the moment.

At least you don't have the added stress of wondering whether or not God is going to help or send more calamity. You can skip all that religious business and do what needs to be done to improve life.

Anyway, I hope things get better for you. :)

Ok, honey. I'll be on the Xbox while God is providing.

Except we're going to get shit turned off, so no Xbox (I don't have one anyway).

No, it falls to me to try and find possessions of mine to sell at a loss just to have a bit of something. Then when and if things improve, we'll have to have a "discussion" about how much it will cost to buy back or otherwise replace the items I sell so we can eat for a few days.

In the meantime, she'll be swaying with her eyes closed on Sundays, thanking her SkyDaddy for all he's apparently doing for us. Whatever that is.

Sorry, I edited out the xbox comment in favor of something more uplifting.

Dude!

That is SERIOUSLY messed up, @L.B.:(

The only thing worse than being in dire straights is listening to the fams yammer away about how their imaginary friend is, not only testing you, but will provide everything you need - just as soon as you show him your faith.

At that point I would lose it and say something to the wife like "Instead of waiting around for your faith to bring forth a case of Top Ramon why don't you do something that will actually have an impact like WORKING! (assuming she does not work here).

Hope things change for the better for you soon! You'll then have to contend with "see god provided for us because we <whateverthefuck'ed> just like he told us to. But that would be better than starving....MAYBE! ^_^

Hey L B I have been wondering how things are going for you. Sorry to hear things are not going well.

I hope things get better for you.

I have no idea how to deal with your wife. I just ignore the religious muttering from my family... I guess a bit harder for you to do.

All the best

LF
