It stated if you pray to God to fill you with the Holy Spirit and He does not do so, it is because you have not totally surrendered to Him. So if you are only 99.99.99.99 % committed to Christ but a tiny, barely noticeable piece of you still has the near invisible amount of self respect for your self..... Then no magic ghost for you.... You Heathen It is grim when you think about it, really........ God will totally answer prayers (says Jesus), but doesn't. The excuses given by the faithful are threadbare. God is not a genie You are being greedy or full of pride God HAS answered your prayer, but not in the way you asked for (as He knows your true needs) Amazing , how God can answer prayers where you do the leg work yourself. Example: You really want to be a police officer. It is your dream job. You join the army to get life experience. You train and study hard. You volunteer within your local community. You apply to join the police and pray that God will help you. You get accepted. Praise the Lord.......even thou you did ALL the work. Think of the Christian wives being beaten by their Christian husbands. Think how they must pray for it to stop. Some of them will put up with it for years. Eventually, after one broken nose or arm after another, the police are called and the beast is arrested and charged.......naturally the faithful will chime that Christ was working through law enforcement.
