Sybaris
Yesterday my wife and I ran into the woman in this story. Oh she had the greatest thing happen to her the previous day. Her elderly husband had exited a parking lot onto a state highway and went the wrong direction. He went several miles before realizing his mistake and did a U-turn in the middle of the road. Her god was so good to her husband that he delayed the stop lights on down the road so that there was no traffic and he didn't run into anyone. She said, "Just another example of how God works!" All I could think about was how a guy did the same thing near this woman's home several years ago except he had his 4 kids in his car and ran head on into someone killing everyone except himself. Guess her God didn't care so much about those toddlers.

Guess her God didn't care so much about those toddlers. God is good all the time,...all the time God is good! I have no doubt whatsoever that God intervened and saved that poor elderly man and whoever he might have killed in a head on collision. It's no wonder so many kids have been killed in school shooting and babies and children are starving to death in Africa. God is so busy finding good parking spots, and lost car keys, and saving confused elderly old men that shouldn't be driving anymore that He just doesn't have time to save everybody. I swear it's like Christians believe their God is omnipotent or something. He can't be everywhere at the same time ya know........
sdelsolray
A few thoughts: 1) Believing that everything and all events have a purpose is a cognitive bias and thinking error. https://www.cell.com/current-biology/fulltext/S0960-9822(18)30863-7 2) Such believers usually are unaware of or consciously avoid the differences among and between non sequitur, coincidence, correlation and causation. 3) Such believers are usually experts at making shit up. 1

I'm voting for #3.
