They can all provide insight and useful ways of coping, but they also contain some bat shit crazy stuff. We survive as societies by encouraging certain behaviors and discouraging others. This happens with or without the help of any certain religion or "revealed" text. We are basically moral because we have to be if we are to survive. Just as we learned we can't jump off a cliff and fly we learned we pretty much can't be assholes to everyone all the time or we won't make it. The time where god whispers in the ear of each individual person but only if they believe in him (a specific version of him not just, you know, generic "god" or wrong religion god). Then that person misinterprets what god, via the holy spirit, tells them (about the god they've read and/or heard about and absolutely nothing else) because they're sinful resulting in all sorts of confusion and problems.
