Priest @ funeral says deceased won't get into heaven because of suicide

Recommended Posts

Seems a Catholic priest running a funeral for a teen suicide victim goes on and on about how the kid won't  get into heaven because he killed himself. Finally the father got up and told the priest to stop, which he didn't. The story says the priest "will not be preaching at funerals “for the foreseeable future,”"

Too bad the grieving father didn't go up and physically knock the shit out of that priest who would dare preach his shit to a grieving family while, who knows, he may have been molesting those kids.  Wonder if the kid committed suicide because of a pedophile priest?

Yeah, B.O. I would have taken the mic away from him and ended the service, telling everyone that we'd continue in a better way at the cemetery.

This isn’t an uncommon belief among fundamentalist,  but I don’t remember a c of C preacher saying such a thing at the deceased funeral, but it would have certainly been said among members and probably even to family members, but only “in love” of course.

What do you expect when you agree to hear the sales pitch?  Most sales people know to tell everyone if they all buy in then everyone will meet again but since they're selling an exclusive residency you occasionally have to point out that poor guy who doesn't make the grade.  Sucks when it's your guy and you're the one footing the bill to hear it.

If only people were strong enough to accept that when you die you're dead.  Then folks wouldn't have to worry about their loved ones potentially suffering for eternity when they don't get the lie they want when they really need it?

Oh yeah, I can certainly see a COC'er preacher-man sayin' something like that. And of course it would be said in the most "loving" manner imaginable. Because, feelings, y'know?

Nor will the priest or anyone else get into a make believe place drummed up by the human imagination over time.

Not sure if that would make it better or worse for the grieving family....
