The spirit of the season

Recommended Posts

What is the point of these semi religious holidays? star, hash! I want to smash these God addicts in the face and tell them to wake up to themselves. Jesus is fucking dead and buried and he is never coming back, OK, get over it. Anyway, the way I see it is if Christianity never existed neither would Easter or Christmas. How many times have you heard those religious nuts say "Get into the spirit of the season" The spirit of the season indeed.

1 John 4:1 1Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

Yes test the spirits, of any festival or event.

Many of the aspects and customs of Xmass and Easter are borrowed from other religions/belief systems , especially Paganism, so those holidays might still be around had Constantine not issues the directive that all his subject must submit to xianity.

It has been my personal experience, however, that the Pagan types are far less "in-your-face" about their beliefs so we wouldn't be so bothered by them.  What I find so annoying about the funnymental xtians is their seemingly unrestrained efforts to ram their crap down our throats (evangelizing) and their delusion that if they say "praise god" and "That is SUCH a blessing"  on a continual basis that all around them will simply feel the presence of the Lard and Heavenly Farter (thank you @Brother Jeff wherever you are) and become just as delusional as they are. It gives them such "piece" inside to hum their little jebus-freak songs as that practice playcates any feelings of doubt. And there's lots of doubt as, try as they might to avoid it, they are living in a world that responds consistently to reality, science, logic, and reason. And THAT scares the shit out of them!

The point of any holiday is time off work.

Just ignore all the b*ll*x.
