Arguments Against Christianity - John Loftus

When I started seriously questioning Christianity, I found John Loftus and his very well thought-out and expressed arguments to be convincing.  In this one article he presents the top five reasons not to believe.  Here’s my summary of his points, but do yourself a favor and read the article for yourself...

 

1.  The Bible: in its pages you can see how so many aspects of Judeo-Christian belief clearly evolved (were made up as they went along)

 

2.  The Church: Supposedly founded and led by God, the church has propagated false history and morally repugnant teachings over the centuries. 
 

3.  ‘Miracles’:  no claims of miracles stand up to historic or scientific scrutiny. 
 

4.  Science: as scientific knowledge advances, it leaves fewer and fewer corners for god to hide. 
 

5.  The problem of horrendous suffering.  Need I say more?
