It's not a scientific or scholarly work, it's an opinion piece, mainly. Informed opinion, but opinion nonetheless. I don't know how one debunks an opinion. I imagine he had fun writing it and pulling out all the stops on his love of rational thought distaste for unfounded religious beliefs that have led to wars, genocide, discrimination and such.
