.....Well, it happened. My son was born a few days after Christmas and is now right around 4 months old. Any positive vibes and well wishes would be appreciated, any advice you have encountered along the way also appreciated, and any questions are also totally encouraged.

Good to hear from you! Positive vibes!!

Hi, all! It's been a hot minute, as per usual, I don't get on the site much anymore. I am off social media and just don't have a ton of time to be on the internet much in general. I figured I'd pop on to give an update for anyone interested and also to encourage anyone browsing the site that everything will absolutely be okay. If you have been praying for a sign that you're headed in the right direction or to hear God's voice or anything close to that, this is it. You'll be okay, keep going. I promise that the chaos and battling within yourself gets so much better, you just have to trust that the pursuit of what is true will come to fruition. Take care of yourself and don't stop seeking answers.

Anyone on this site who remembers me (it feels so long ago) and how freaked out I was about the transition from Christianity to....something else, lol, will remember the various stages I went through. I was terrified, I was angry, I was panicked and not sure of anything I believed, I was curious, I was not sure where I belonged, the list goes on. I was particularly freaked out at the idea of parenting a little baby one day, I only knew religion.

.....Well, it happened. My son was born a few days after Christmas and is now right around 4 months old. Any positive vibes and well wishes would be appreciated, any advice you have encountered along the way also appreciated, and any questions are also totally encouraged.

I thought maybe you'd like to know. Love you all, this site was so helpful to me as I look back on that time in my life and everything it's become since. I am truly happy, spiritually alive, and looking forward to the rest of this life. ❤️

Nice to hear your good news. Hope you consider doing at least a drive-by posting more often. We miss you. Being a new mother leaves little time for outside interests :) For any  Christians that come here now, the lions den hath killed most of um so few Christian newbies are posting here right now. Sorry I didn't talk to you much before, so you probably don't remember me. I mostly posted in the science vs. religion forum.

As to your quote:

... (I'm) "looking forward to the rest of my life."  -- sounds a little sad to me. When you were a Christian it was more like a period of naivete IMO, like a child in some ways. Now that you are no longer under the influence of the Christianity that you had problems with, you might say: When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became an adult, I put away childish things (a non-thinking phase of your young life).

Instead of saying "looking forward to the rest of my life," you might now want to say:  looking forward to a happy adult life with my new baby, right? Nice hearing from you again and hope we hear from you more often now.

best wishes for you and your new baby.

I find it so interesting you perceived it as sad, it was very much intended with the same meaning as the way you phrased it. I'll keep that in mind, I'm certainly looking forward to a happy adult life with my new baby!! :) I don't feel like an adult though....lol!

Congratulations. Below is something my son brought home from first grade many decades ago. I hope you like it.

What shall we give the children?

Attention, for one day it will be too late.
A sense of humor. Laughter leavens life.
The meaning of discipline.
The will to work.
The talent for sharing, for it is not so much what we give as what we share.
The love of justice.
The passion for truth. Truth is the beginning of every good thing.
The knowledge of being loved beyond demand or reciprocity, praise or blame, for those so loved are never lost.
The open sky, the brown earth, the leafy trees, the golden sand, the blue water, the stars in their courses, and awareness of these.
Birdsong, butterflies, clouds and rainbows.
Sunlight, moonlight, and fire light.
A large hand reaching down for a smaller hand, impromptu praise, an unexpected kiss, a straight answer.
The glisten of enthusiasm and a sense of wonder.
Long days to be merry in and nights without fear.
The memory of a good home.

I absolutely love this. I would echo my agreement and goals to achieve this to the best of my ability!

Hi Jess!!!  So nice to hear from you after a good while.  Congratulations on your new baby!  It’s always nice when a long-standing member stops by to say hello to the heathens, especially when they’re doing well and living the post-Christian life to the full.
