Still Christian friend called me illogical about religion

Yes, she said I understood it all backwards. But fuck me if she hasn't adopted the full image of her god - full blown narcissist. Always right by default, everything contrary to her opinions are illogical hateful childish comments. In her mind God has communicated his message perfectly but we just don't listen. That's IMPOSSIBLE. An omnimax God cannot by definition make mistakes.

Cannot fail. If he wants to make you listen, regardless of the absurd notion of free will in the philosophical sense not the social/psychology sense, he will succeed. He either is perfect or not. It's that fucking simple, but her brainwashing is so deep obvious perceptions of reality an logic are clouded by cliches. God loves , we choose to reject his love out of ego. It is no suprise that in the name of "love" everything can be justified. I got so frustrated at one point.

How can you be SO blind? I know the answer actually. Years upon years upon years of psychological conditioning that is now a reflex, a new personality, a new way of perceiving. Coupled with daily practice of hypnotic tehniques disguised as religious practice. And a baseline of trauma and lack of coping mechanisms probably.

Sometimes, not always, but sometimes religion, any system of beliefs act as a mind virus. It wrecks you so hard, it's virtually Impossible to see even basic things about reality, that's how deluded you become. It is literally like talking to mental patient in the middle of a schiziphrenic episode.

That's a good analogy.  There is no rational thinking when it comes to religion.  Just repeating what was programmed in.

She thinks of herself as practicing universal love by the way. The universal love of the sky tyrant. It's cult actually. High demand group. Manipulative group. Whatever term one sees fit. It's the obliteration of critical thinking and awareness in favour of chaotic sentimentality and fantasy. The sheer opposite of truth or truth seeking. Angry and sad about it, venting here but truly such a pathetic, disgusting and cringeworthy, but also pitiful and regretful use of humanity, unfortunately.:(

It sounds like you really care about this person, Myrkhoos, which is commendable; but I know that only makes her willful, even belligerent, ignorance that much more painful.  I am sorry you have to go through this.

True. And they keep passing laws so the rest of us are forced to obey, all the while sure that Jesus is smiling down at them for advancing his kingdom.

I have a buddy (well, ex-buddy) who is similar, so utterly steeped in the cult that he says Jesus saved him from sinful pride by taking his eye (a simple accident with a toy when he was playing as a child). It's perverse contorted thinking to grind humans down and make them grovel before a toxic angry god they call love. The whole planet would be better off without the cults pushing humans to do nonsensical things.

If such a God exists, he is a monster and Satan was right in rebelling against him. That kind of perverted narcissist.

It is , yeah. It is like a person committing suicide. in front of me, over and over again, on a psychological level. It is hard to watch. I really hope she gets free from the cult type thinking at one point, but I for one, I just re-discovered how hard it is for me to actually hear those so called arguments or dogmas. It is a real trigger for me. Still is. The massive all consuming guilt tripping. The contorted mental gymnastics. The glaring contradictions. The abandonment of common sense. The superiority and contempt disguised as humility and love. OMG indeed.  It is, well, evil. It is the best word I could come up with. Evil, just pure evil that type of belief and practice system. She's a evil worshipper and servant. At the highest level. I just cannot think of a better word for it, on a gut level. I just might start REALLY believing in the supernatural and the transcendent just because of how much evil that contains, it seems superhuman.

yeah, as a friend it seems that you should stay off the subject of religion with her. But if she gives it up then you could always say that she is right and get on to more important things

You can eliminate the "If" in your statement above. Take it from me, no such God exists, ho Jesus, no Satan, angels, devils, spirits, etc.  Nearly all of the Bible is a book of fiction including the God and Jesus part. Nothing exists that is good, bad, evil etc. These concepts are all man made. We are simply animals just like all of the others on Earth only with a  higher intellect. The theories of natural selection (evolution) and anthropology explains our beginnings and origins. Science does not have all of the answers, but they correctly have many of the more important answers concerning our origins IMO. Questions?

More like a metaphor for the feeling of utter contempt I felt for it all.
