(RNS) — 'Discrimination against the non-religious is often caused, not by a desire to hurt atheists, but by the desire to help one or more religions,' according to a new report by Humanists International.

Yeah, there is no large scale discrimination against the non-religions in the U.S. since most non-religious folk claim to be Christian. And those claiming to be atheists like myself are not discriminated against unless they do it publicly. Yes, many religions consider atheists as being agents of Satan :)

But as your link above discusses, Dave, it is well-known that there are many such discriminations against those claiming to be non-religions in many other countries around the World. It's Nice to see that these discriminations are being addressed since the future will contain ever-higher percentages of non-religious folk around the world IMO.

Footnote: The least religious before they became U.S. presidents concerning their writings and non-church attendance were:

Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln, James Monroe, James Madison (called the father of the US constitution), and Donald Trump. Thomas Jefferson was the only President that questioned Deism in writing before he became president. All of these presidents and their parties promoted States rights over more federal control and laws -- essentially more individual rights, the constitutional protection of the individual over the majority, and that the ends do not justify the means.
