Moonobserver Posted Thursday at 03:50 AM Posted Thursday at 03:50 AM Does anyone know of any social movements among followers of minority religions? I've come across Heathens Against Hate and maybe a couple of others, but I'm wondering if there's anything general and not necessarily affiliated with a particular belief.

Have you looked into the Unitarian Universalist Church? The one I attended for a while was truly "universal". They accepted any and all beliefs and lifestyles. But are usually only found in larger cities.

I respect UU, but I don't know how far beyond their own walls their voices go. Does anyone pay attention to them?

Okay, thanks! Now I think I see what you are after, and like the idea. The problem I see is that any kind of "spiritual", or humanity issues get almost no press. Especially any that go against normal religious and political sources. In our society it seems like it would take rich, powerful people to even get people to pay attention. Or some really famous "heros" like athletes, actors, etc. In most public eyes we are eccentric, radical or even looney people. HA! what "miracle" is going to get us around that obstacle?? But, like you, I wish we could. 1

I agree there are those among us who use the path less traveled. From what I have heard and read you may want to investigate the Freemasons. They are non-denominational and invested in advancing mankind.
