Over here in Germany, the majority of the population is christian too (roughly two thirds of our population, quite evenly divided between catholicism and German lutherans). Our constitution, just like the US one, establishes freedom of religion, separation of church and state et cetera, though it uses different words of course. And over here you don't see fundies protesting, and you don't see stores withdrawing christmas stuff out of any political correctness. And all are happy with the way things are. Commonly, the question whether celebrating and advertizing christmas is good or bad, or even unconstitutional, is considered too fucking unimportant to make any fuzz about. They steal, then cry like bitches when people get fed up with their hokey holidays. And Thurisaz is right - and it's fitting, since Xians created Sin and Satan to threaten our souls, thereby necessitating their cult in the first place.
