garrisonjj
I've had my doubts about religion and god in general for years but kept practicing. Now for the last 6 months I stopped believing and worshipping. Out of necessity I've attended masses and received (a sacralige) with no real bad feelings or regret. Did any of you experience such a sudden deconversion?
Lycorth
That doesn't sound like a "sudden" deconversion, to me. But I went to Mass once for the heck of it and got a Jeezus cracker at the end - tided me over till I got home for breakfast
godlessgrrl
Overall, no, my deconversion wasn't sudden. The whole thing took a long time. But I certainly had some sudden turning points happen along the way, where I'd be thinking about one particular thing, dithering, wondering, and then something would happen and BAM! Suddenly I'd have an answer, and that answer would alter my POV for good. In fact I had a turning point like that just at the start of this year, and went from being pagan to being agnatheist. ♦ ficino ♦
I had an anti-epiphany, so to speak, but my belief in Church teachings and my attendance at mass took a while gradually to fade out.
