“I’ve been to lots of schools, and I know children. Unfortunately there are children who seek affection because they don’t receive it at home and I understand that some priests can give up. Pedophilia is a sin, and like all sins has to be accepted.” -- http://www.patheos.com/blogs/friendlyatheist/2015/10/08/catholic-priest-suspended-after-saying-pedophilia-is-caused-by-children-who-seek-affection/

The most shocking thing about that story is that a Catholic priest was suspended for those words.  Could it be that somebody inside that evil organization actually gets it?

He just said it out loud. Bad form.

Sad. He could actually molest and NOT get suspended

Children that don't get enough attention at home are easier targets for pedophiles. That doesn't mean that molesting children is acceptable because it's easy.

I remember reading an article a long time about by a priest that claimed pedophilia isn't a sin according to the Bible so we shouldn't make such a big deal about it. It's our modern culture that has issues with it. God didn't forbid it. I'm guessing he was a pedophile. He claimed he wasn't, but he was very defensive of pedophile priests.

If morality is determined by the edicts of Yahweh, then I suppose that if you can't find a rule in the Bible, then it is obviously not a rule at all.  Apparently it is moral to kill, cook, and eat the family pets, because the Bible has no rule against it.  You can bulldoze the last habitat of a species, becuase Yahweh has said nothing about that.  A gay man could leave his husband.  A corporation could refuse to dialogue with the union.  If the Bible doesn't say anything specifically about fondling a child, then how can it be wrong?  As the priest of the church of pedophilia says, pedophilia "has to be accepted."  Without the Bible, where could morality possibly find its foundation of certainty?
