For a hypothesis to be termed a scientific hypothesis, it has to be something that can be supported or refuted through carefully crafted experimentation or observation. This is called falsifiability and testability, according to the Encyclopedia Britannica." https://www.livescience.com/21490-what-is-a-scientific-hypothesis-definition-of-hypothesis.html You do not get to redefine words simply because it makes them fit better into your narrative, End3. I see your definition and raise you another: hy·poth·e·sis hīˈpäTHəsəs/ noun noun: hypothesis; plural noun: hypotheses a supposition or proposed explanation made on the basis of limited evidence as a starting point for further investigation. All scientific suppositions and proposed explanations are natural and not supernatural ones. Physical and material ones and not spiritual ones. No amount of further investigation will change that fact, End. You can fill the Library of Congress buildings from floor to ceiling with science papers on epigenetics and it won't make any difference. Scientists could discover that the word, 'Jesus' is encoded on every strand of human DNA and it wouldn't make any difference. Astronomers could discover the word, 'Jesus' emblazoned across the skies and it still wouldn't make any difference. Science can only, ever give one answer to why it might find these things... Cause unknown to science. Unknown.
Orbit
I ran across this today and found it interesting. Some scientists-turned-theologians have started a trend called "critical realism". Can we still call them scientists? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theological_critical_realism Note: I'm not endorsing the premise, but thought it interesting in light of the OP.
