These people suck

*Sigh*

People drive me nuts. I know I'm not the smartest person around, but why is it that the people around me are idiots? Why don't they care to do their jobs the way they are supposed to? Frankly, I'd be embarrassed to go about my day the way some of these folks do.

I have my own job to do, and yet I'm constantly interrupted so I can help someone use their out of office reply or find Microsoft Word in their computer. How can anyone be that dense? They work here right along side me all day-- so what are they doing that they aren't comfortable performing simple tasks on a computer? And why isn't the IT department responsible for training these nimrods?

One of the most awful days is when I have to ask my neighbor to scan something for me. I know it's going to turn into a long, drawn-out process with an inferior product at the end. I don't help her anymore because I can't get through to her. No one seems to be interested in understanding how things work, so there is no use in trying to help them gain understanding so they can do it better. Once, just once, I would like to tell these people to fuck off and learn to think for themselves. I have a feeling that would get me removed from their National Friendship Day forward list, that they would stop giving me copies of recipes I don't ask for, and that I would never get invited to another greeting card stamping party ever again. Wouldn't that suck?

In the job I had prior to the one I presently hold I frequently used to say both quietly to myself and out loud to a few: "I'm tired of being the brain bug!"

People either don't know how, or are to lazy - to think! THINK for crying out loud!

Believe me, I feel your pain.

I mostly work alone now. Heaven!

I can't speak for every company, but in my already overworked IT department, we already deal with more than our share of nimrods and random hardware/software crises. If these people can't do simple shit like that without the help of the IT department, they should be kicked in the face repeatedly.

Of course, reaching my daily quota of idiocy is no problem thanks to an office mate who asks the silliest questions ALL DAY LONG about shit that she could have answered herself had she spent just 5 or 10 minutes doing some research. I've come to expect that sort of bullshit from end users, but from someone in my own department? ARGH.

Or, they SHOULDN'T HAVE A JOB. Since when is computer literacy not a required skill? Kicking some of these people in the face would certainly be more satisfying, though...

I suppose I should feel guilty now, because after working on a database project with our off-site programmer (my boss's brother), I was cc'd on an email to my boss that said I have (among other things,) a "rapport with the people". Wow, I must be hiding my true feelings well! But then again, this guy refuses to speak with anyone other than IT and me. He knows how it is, and he can get away with it because he's 1) the owners' brother 2) old and really crotchety and 3) rich.
