Damn! I was not aware of Isaiah 45:7.

Here you go, miamia..!

Isa 45:7

"I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these [things]."

Lam. 3:38
”Is it not from the mouth of the Most High that good and evil come?”

Jer. 26:3
”...that I may repent of the evil, which I purpose to do unto them because of the evil of their doings”

Jer. 36:3

”...all the evil which I purpose to do unto them; that they may return every man from his evil way; that I may forgive their iniquity and their sin”

Jer. 32:42
”For thus saith the Lord; as I have brought all this great evil upon this people, so will I bring upon them all the good that I have promised them”

 Amos 3:6
”...shall there be evil in a city, and the Lord hath not done it?”

Jer. 11:11

"Therefore thus saith the Lord, Behold, I will bring evil upon them, which they shall not be able to escape; and though they shall cry unto me, I will not hearken unto them."

Ezek. 6:10

"And they shall know that I am the Lord, and that I have not said in vain that I would do this evil unto them."

Micah 2:3

"Therefore thus saith the Lord; Behold, against this family do I devise an evil, from which ye shall not remove your necks; neither shall ye go haughtily: for this time is evil."

1 Kings 21:29

"Seest thou how Ahab humbleth himself before me? because he humbleth himself before me, I will not bring the evil in his days: but in his son's days will I bring the evil upon his house."

2 Chron. 34:24

"Thus saith the Lord, Behold, I will bring evil upon this place, and upon the inhabitants thereof, even all the curses that are written in the book which they have read before the king of Judah:"

2 Chron. 34:28

"Behold, I will gather thee to thy fathers, and thou shalt be gathered to thy grave in peace, neither shall thine eyes see all the evil that I will bring upon this place, and upon the inhabitants of the same. So they brought the king word again."

.

.

.

And there are probably others..!

Thanks,

BAA.

Nice work BAA!  The key is to remember that the God of the OT wasn't the Christian concept of God.  You didn't worship God because he was good or because he loved you.  You worshiped God because he was powerful and he sometimes would smite people who didn't grovel enough.

Or tried to stop things from falling over.

I kind of imagine IF Yahweh is real, he stopped giving reward to Christians after the whole bloody reign of Catholicism ended. Now I think he greets all newly dead Christians then drops the hammer on them while laughing as they are dragged into hell for having the wrong idea about him.

He probably also loves the warmongering ISIS/terrorist types of Muslims too. And the barbaric types of Christians usually found in small African countries like Uganda.

The scriptures indeed teach that God knows who will be saved and God chooses who will be saved, and it also teaches we must choose Christ in order to be saved.

How these facts work together is impossible for a finite mind to comprehend.

I once heard a professor explained this paradox to his class with this story:

“Imagine when you enter the Kingdom Of God you see over the front gate a sign that reads “Whosoever Will: Enter” and once inside you look back and see a sign inside the gate that reads:

“Welcome all who were chosen before the foundation of the world”

Yes, black is white and up is down. We mere mortals can't understand the mind of the deity who created us in his own image. Idiot.

That is all anybody can do because the Kingdom of God is imaginary.

Ok, so this is one of the things you accept by faith Ironhorse.

Because of your all-too finite mind.

That still leaves the things your mind does understand.

.

.

.

(Edited to take into account Ironhorse's use of Circular arguments)

Please tell us what these things are.

The things you mind does understand which aren't in the Bible, ok?

Yeah, if you're on gods guest list, you can choose to accept. I guess. If you're not on gods list, you're fucked. Period.

Oh please! That professor didn't explain anything. This professor completely dodged the problem and only told people what they wanted to hear, so they could feel special.

It is clear to anyone with a rational mind that the Christian idea of Free Will is complete nonsense. It is certainly not Biblical. To put it simply, if you have not already been chosen to be saved, then you cannot willingly choose to be saved because you've already been chosen to be sent to Hell. You can ignore this problem if you want, but don't try telling us that your idea of Free Will makes any sense, because it doesn't.

...

They are not facts.  They are assertions.  Please learn the difference.

No, TinPony, what I said was "god predestined some to have free will and allowed others to use their free will to choose predestination".

This is why you had to repeat Intro to Apologetics during the summer semester that year.

I see that wit and word-play are lost on you.  That's unfortunate.

I will tell you exactly when and where I said that, just as soon as you answer my question about Auschwitz.

Ironhorse, I know you typically either ignore or dodge the questions I pose to you, but I really want you to answer these, if you would.

Have you ever been to Auschwitz

Have you ever seen the crematoria up close?  Or been inside the gas chamber?

Have you walked under the archway that says "ARBEIT MACHT FREI"?  Or through the gate of doom at Auschwitz II (Birkenau)?  Have you seen the inside of a typical barrack?

Have you ever watched as a crowd of Jewish school children learned of the fates of many of their own relatives while looking at the barbed-wire?

Have you ever seen the inside of the hospital ward in Auschwitz, where painful medical experiments were conducted on human beings as though they were lab rats?  Have you ever seen the main gallows, or the death wall, where innocent people were shot in cold blood?

Have you seen the empty cannisters of Zyklon B on display?  Or the prayer cloths?  Or the piles of shoes, eyeglasses, suitcases, teeth--each of which represents the life stolen from a real, breathing, fearful human being?

Has your heart ever shattered as your eye fell upon a shoe that would have fit your own child, realizing that some other father, just like yourself, bought that shoe for his child, just as you had so often done?

I have seen and done all of these things and I can and will answer your "query".

"In Auschwitz, where was god?"  god was not in Auschwitz.  god has never been anywhere near Auschwitz

"Where was man?"  Man was in Auschwitz.  Man created Auschwitz and Man destroyed in Auschwitz.  Ultimately, Man liberatedAuschwitz.  Yes, Man has incredible potential, both for evil and for good.

But god, simply watches and allows the sun to shine upon both the righteous and the wicked.

Worship him if you will; but until he proves himself worthy of it, I will not.

Hey Prof!

What's it now...seventy (70) days...and Ironhorse still hasn't answered even one of your questions about Auschwitz..?

.

.

.

Maybe (paraphrasing Elijah on Mount Carmel) he's deep in thought, or busy, or travelling..?

Maybe he's sleeping and must be awakened..?

Perhaps if you danced around the altar he might hear you and respond..?

Or if you shouted his name LOUDER...?

Or if you slashed yourself with a sword until your blood flowed, while calling out to him..?

.

.

.

Maybe then he might hear you and respond..?
