This past Sunday, Frazier Glen Cross, a founder and former leader of the Carolina Knights of the Ku Klux Klan and the White Patriot Party, gunned down three people in front of Jewish centers in Kansas this past Sunday. This is a significant day in the Jewish calendar as celebrations for Passover are in full swing.

On a humanist level, I find it upsetting that this 70+ year old man felt it was necessary to gun down bystanders in Jewish communities to satisfy his hate filled urgings. At the same time, I am always sickened and disgusted by the celebration of Passover and find it painfully ironic that this man is being charged for a hate crime when his Jewish targets are, themselves, celebrating a hate crime. Personally, I think the holiday in and of itself is hateful and highlights the prejudiced nature of the Jewish culture. I have Jewish heritage in my veins, by the way, and I have spoken to several rabbis and others who are educated in the holiday celebrations. There isn't anyway to really sugar coat this particular religious observance, it is what it is - a genocidal holiday.

Further, I have seen this genocide celebrated in many films, including Dreamworks' Prince of Egypt. This scene, which I feel so angry by the end of, highlights everything wrong with this holiday. They take liberty in trying to make it okay with Moses crying and trying to comfort the Pharaoh, but it will never be okay. Even worse, the Jewish families that didn't paint their doors? First born died there too. I asked my pastor about that as a child, the answer I got? "They didn't obey their Lord."

This Passover, three people died. Compared to supposedly how many in Egypt?

I was still a Christian when I first saw Prince of Egypt.  It was very troubling for me when babies started dying.  I had been told that story hundreds of times and even read it myself but for some reason it never dawned on me what that really meant until I saw it on the big screen.  It would take me many years to deconvert.  I had to leave Christianity before I could realize how disgusting it would be to paint real lamb's blood on your door.

It's sad that there was a shooting.  It's even sadder how the media is going to paint this regarding religion.

Why not say--as some slanderously claim that we say--"Let us do evil that good may result"? Their condemnation is just!- Romans 3:8

Behold our great moral champion Yahweh, always "doing evil that good may result."  His condemnation is just.
