Guest JP
I just have a question. Is there any evidence for the historicity of Saint Peter? It says he was the orginal Pope on Wikipedia but I didn't know that it was a for sure thing that he existed.
mwc
To the best of my knowledge there isn't a shred of evidence for the lot of them. When I looked at this over a year ago (my memory is a bit fuzzy and so take all this with a grain of salt) I felt the move to Rome for Paul and, I think especially, Peter is very forced in the texts and was probably added later to establish their own apostolic conntection in an effort to provide the fledgling church there with some much needed authority. mwc
