Vigile
Beautiful Dave. It reminds me of the Sawtooth range in Idaho. CA, right?
Dave
Beautiful Dave. It reminds me of the Sawtooth range in Idaho. CA, right? I've never been there. I don't think anything can compare to Yosemite... but then I'm hardly impartial on the topic. You might like this one then....
Vigile
I like it. Here's some views of the Sawtooths; one of my favorite places in the world. But then I'm impartial as well:
Dave
Half Dome is on the right. In the valley at the base of Half Dome is Mirror Lake. It's filling in and is now more of a wide spot in the river than a lake. A few miles up the canyon from that is a big sign that states that hiking beyond this point is "STRONGLY DISCOURAGED." Well.... at the time I was a teenager and that sign only meant that I had to hike Tenaya Canyon. It was the scariest trail I've ever been on. If it was in the spring, it would be impossible. Part of the "trail" was a crack in a cliff, and other parts were only 3 feet wide with a several hundred foot drop on the right and a smooth vertical cliff on the left. And all these pictures I took myself so there is no copyright on them.
