Goodbye Jesus

One Year Out Of Christianity

Well, would you believe it, it's roughly about a year since I left Christianity - can't pinpoint the exact date, but I think the last time I went to church was first week of April 2006. I want to celebrate with my housemates, and Easter would probably be a good time .. was thinkin about having a night of 'music inspired by the devil' ie. heavy metal and stuff, or just going to the pub for some drinks. Can anyone think of any creative ideas of how to celebrate this momentous occasion, sensible ideas only please?

Rent the Harry Potter movies, and make up a drinking game to go with? Like take a shot everytime you see a witches, er wizard hat.

Have a Halloween in April party

Actaully have an EASTER party

Watch porn... is that sensible? I dunno what you're idea of sensible is.

I dunno, what you could do for party fun, could depend a lot on what you couldn't do before.

Purple excellent ideas here is some more:

Have ribs/ pork chops ( Pork is evil remember)

Watch some good Harry Potter movies ( Harry Potter rocks! :HaHa: )

And then God said let there be..........porn.....(check out porn on Easter)

Watch the Blasphemy Challenge videos on youtube

Play video games ( If you are in to that)

Go to church ( I know weird idea) raise your hand during the Easter sermon and say it is a Pagan holiday

Listen to black metal (what purple said) and rip pages out of the Bible and put them in your BBQ

Play a good game of UNO

Watch Spongebob (since he is gay according to Focus on the Family)

Play guitar

Go outside and breathe fresh air and say Fuck this and go back inside

Let's see...

I agree with several of the aforementioned, but I'll also suggest:

Burning a few Bibles (page tearing optional)

Actually taking the Blasphemy Challenge (in a nice, evangelical church that may be in the area)

Sacrificing a virgin (or maybe a "virgin" blow-up doll?)

A rowdy night drinking with the guys (act as though it's your birthday or the like)

Celebrate by creating an effigy of Christ on the cross and setting it on fire?

Pity you only mention 'sensible ideas' - although how do you define 'sensible'?

heavy metal (esp. death metal) is definitely a good idea, in keeping with the rebellion against christian values theme. Don't forget horror films and pornography also. In fact you should top it off with some good old fashioned debauchery  Have an orgy. Sex, drugs and rock n roll!

Burn a Bible. It makes you feel real good, like you did something very positive for the world. It did for me :Duivel7: And if you can find a Koran, light that bitch up, too. Or any Xian religious books you might have on hand.

Just don't shell out money for them. No one should profit from selling that trash.

Well, black metal wasn't my idea, although not a bad one. The sound track to Hedgewig and the Angry Inch is more me. :wicked: I love the idea of a bar be que with bible pages for that extra pious flavor.

Decorations always add a special feeling to any party, be creative, you could use colored condoms for ballons. Check out the childs birthday party themes, maybe that Harry Potter, or Teletubbies? Hang some crosses upside down. James Dobson dart board? Pin the nail on the Jesus? Bible pages oragami? I am sure others here could come up with other fun decorating ideas. :)

Fun with food.... Besides pork being evil, koshur laws forbid meat and dairy mixing, so, you could have the evil pizza. How about a devil's food cake, with a nice non-christian slogan on top?

If you don't already have one, apply for a library card.

Play dungeons and dragons, old school, just for shits and giggles.

If you are an atheist now, thumb your nose at superstision by using a oiji board, reading the Satanic bible out loud, or preforming a "Satanic Ritual".

What were you not alowed to do? Maybe going out drinking and :: gasps :: dancing might be fun.

My parents put a Bible in my trunk, I just need to find the right place for burning it. It's hard because where can I burn one at college?

Deicide would do the perfect job, you can't go wrong with song titles like Homage For Satan and Crucified For The Innocence. :wicked:

Shredding a bible is also rather enjoyable if you can't burn one. :ukliam2:

My housemate's got plenty of heavy metal but I only really like Iron Maiden and one or two other bands, and I hate horror films. Pornography sounds a bit better maybe. As for your last suggestion, you obviously don't know me and my sexual history (somewhat limited).

I see you are in Manchester - when I first decided I wanted to leave southern England, I originally thought of Manchester but ended up in Leeds .. and I think I've made the right decision, unless you can tell me that Manchester is amazing. Anyway, good to have someone else nearby on board.

My housemates have all gone home for Easter weekend so I'll probably have to save the celebrations for a bit later .. but thanks all for your suggestions.

Happy Easter to you all .. remember to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus who washed away our TERRIBLE sins. Or alternatively, enjoy your Easter bunnies .. I haven't got any Easter eggs this year, maybe I'll go get one if I can be arsed.
