I bet ya' that the Xians will make this to be the first city told in Genesis.

Cain's city Enoch, named after Cain's son.

Yea. The world is so unbiblical. To bad for the Christians that history has already contradicted the bible already. It's just a matter of time before the ancient world will be impossible to harmonize with the bible mythology.

But guys, this is the city of Enoch. The first city.

That it's dated just 800 years earlier than Adam and Eve, that's because the dating method is not exact! :) Burr! Do I scare you?

Not until we find an inscription in Sanskrit or something, will they change.

Like this one:

“All Religions are wrong.

I didn’t create the world; my nephew did.

God”

Or

“Read my lips, I DON’T EXISTS!

Oh, yeah, I forgot, you can’t see them.

God”

Or

“To the finder of this ancient plate:

I wrote these words to tell the people at the end of times,

that all was just a joke and not intended to last.

Somehow when I started the frigging machine, I lost the key,

and it seems like I can’t turn it off.

So we’re sorry for any inconvenience it might have caused you.

God”

Or

“This is a very old plate.

More than 6000 years old.

I promise!

God”

Actually the oldest town that can be called "western" is Jericho at 9000 BC.

Der Spiegel features an online article on that discovery, and it is somewhat less sensationalist. One of the researchers is quoted as saying that not only have these findings been known for years, but that it's by no means sure that the circular ditches discovered were once part of temples. He said it could have been temples, market places, pretty much everything - there's simply too few data so far to tell. ;)

Of course, for literalist death cultists some problems remain nonetheless... :fdevil:

Oh, that's easy. All you have to do is repeatedly claim that all dating mechanisms are seriously flawed (except the Bible of course!).

Like the advice from "Guide for the Married Man", deny, deny, deny.

Clinton proved that if you tell a lie often enough, even people who know it's a lie will start to repeat it.

Hi Jason.

So what does all this (Jericho at 9000 yrs. and this new discovery) mean in relation to the bible? Can this be considered more evidence against the bible?
