Well they're DEFINITELY crazy when drunk!

 

I wasn't even planning on being a Seabee. Hell, I didn't even know what one was. I do know I went in to take the ASVAB and I got an 82 on it (that is a real high score, most people average about 30 maybe 40.) Also I got an 82 out of the Navy's speed coding test with four left to go when time was up.

The examiners eyes were like DINNER plates, here i was, long black hair, dressed frumpishly and I got such a high score.... LOL

 

So the recruiter says to me, "Tomorrow you're pickin a job and joinin the Navy!!" I was like "I am??? " At first they were going to make me a striker for IS (Intelligence Specialist) I was like HOLY FUCK..... Then I made it a point to tell the MEPS guy just how badly my credit history sucked.... heheh.

 

So, no security clearance for THAT job, and out came the Construction rates.... I picked CM (Construction Mechanic) the one where you work on vehicles... I thought it was going to be the one least the pain in my ass (it wasn't) On the upside I got a $20,000 bonus. (WHeeeeeee)

 

I went to boot camp, then A-school, then off of active duty and into the Reserves. Woopee!

 

My father was an AMH1 who did 21 years then got out. His old shop chief was giving me a rash of shit about why I didn't go Aviation. (Fuckin Airedales!!! ha!) Uhhhhh...... it simply never came up??? My recruiter was a Seabee?? Nuff said.
