Goodbye Jesus

Faith Mouse

I thought you guys would get a kick out of this insane online comic: http://www.faithmouse.com/ If I learnt anything from the Portal of Evil, it's that if you have to use two paragraphs to explain a joke, it wasn't funny to begin with.

That was lame!  Faith mouse looks like a strange lion.  Also, I noted that all his regular characters are male, except the one "evil" character- and that is female.  Typical patriarchal bs, women are evil and the cause of all societies ills.

I think it was mentioned once that Faith Mouse is a girl as well. And there was a female police officer who looked like an eagle in one comic where Gay Bear was beaten by his boyfriend because of GB's interest in Christianity.

I found it funny that he highlighted his comics on Terri Schiavo- which were pathetic.  See the one where she is lying in bed and there is vinegar and a sponge at the foot- remnant of how Jesus was giving vinegar on the cross.  (rolls eyes)  Or the one where the Pope is carrying her on his back.  Ick!

Or the one where the starving Ethiopian boy sneaks past that evil female to bring Terri food. That made me want to puke.

Then all the ones on abortion.  He really seems concerned about people being killed right!  Then you click on the pro-military cartoons and evidently going to another country and killing off the citizens there is being "on God's side".

Or the one where the duck nurse abortionist has a bloody baby's foot in her hair. I can read Sexy Losers and the Battle Royale manga without too much trouble, but that made me sick.

And if you can read Sexy Losers, you're prepared for life's mysteries; such as, is that fellow at the morgue really fucking dead people? Is that why he isn't interested in me? Not much trumps that; even worse is a fundie comic managing to do so.

The difference between the two comics' offensiveness is Sexy Losers is only kidding and allows us to laugh at the sexual aspects of ourselves. Faith Mouse, Chick Tracts, and a lot of other fundy comics is the utter ignorance and self-rightousness that bubbles under them no matter how much sap they throw over it. Not to mention the fear, dangerous lessons they sometimes offer as well the whole spoiled brat persicution complex. The creators of Sexy Loser, Ghastly's Ghastly Comic and Space Moose don't go whining how they're persecuted because Bush set up that stupid "Protection from Pornography Week" or that the US hasn't legalized prositution. But just because Passion of the Christ did get nominated for Best Picture (despite being nominated for several other awards) the Fundies whine about Hollywood being against Christians. (And when's the last time you saw a main character in a movie who was openly Shinto or Ba'Hai?)
