garrisonjj
Since I deconverted, I've observed my wife has stopped attending church also. Our speech includes Jeezuzchrists and swearing amongst ourselves, never around the children and this seems to be a release. Now my Sundays include reading, watching some porn, shopping and general relaxation. Gone are the years obsessing about getting ready for church, racing to get there, pretending to like it. How come it took me a lifetime (now 50) to realize that all religion is selfimposed guilt and bullshit?

Some people drive drunk for years without being pulled over and others....get busted when they first get their permit.... The right shit has to happen and it can take a short amount of time, a long time, or never. Glad you're free.
GraphicsGuy
Welcome to reality. Love, peace, and joy without Jebus. According to the bullshit we swallowed for so many years it shouldn't be possible...yet it's happening.
Oldjew
Glad you got that yoke removed from your shoulders. It took me longer, I was 59 years to be rid of it entirely but I could have quit anytime but being programmed I didn't.

(I know the reasons but no point dwelling on it.) Just accept it. This is the way it is and I'm glad it's happened now rather than later. Fifty is not the end of life. Back in the Middle Ages it may have been for the average working person but we're not in the Middle Ages anymore and most of us enjoy several more decades of life.
